Even though the guy doesnt seem to like the movie a lot he does say there is mostly little difference, only more cursing and little bit cgi.

So for those of us trying to boycott the pg-13 movie. its basicly a little more swearing only. Im still getting it.

Yeah the only reason it caught my attention was because for the first time we can compare the two movies (rated and unrated). Since i didnt like only PG-13 being released for Blu_ray. But there isnt much of a difference. sure i'd love to hear more from Mclaine's mouth. But no biggie, i will be getting the Blu- ray next month.

A terrible film either way, but I'd rather own the harder cut on BD. Fox missed a trick by never releasing it proper in the UK.

Maybe, but considering it was the highest grossing film in the series by a wide margin in the UK they probably figured if it ain't broke, why fix it? Though of course Fox were the same people who didn't include both cuts of Battle for the Planet of the Apes on the Region B & C BD.

I actually really quite enjoy this film. Apart from the crazy, stupid McClane vs Jet Fighter sequence, it’s a lot of fun, and still feels Die Hardish to me. Bruce Willis still looks like he cares about playing the character too, which helps. It’s the 5th film that’s terrible IMO.

But the fifth film has such a great script:

Russian cabbie: “I love Americans”
John McClane: “I’m on vacation.”

I actually prefer the fifth to the fourth, if only because Willis feels more like McClane.

That said, compared to the first three it's like saying I prefer a punch to the stomach to a kick to the head.

Yep. The fans went apeshit when they found they'd been swindled out it of it. Hell, I had a copy of the extended BFTPOTA over 20 years ago, and believe that the bomb material just about makes it a credible entry to the series, rather than a crap piece of kiddie-fodder.

Die Hard 4 is War and Peace compared to the shambolic Russian chapter....

In fact, it makes Kingdom of the Crystal Skull look like a highly polished and coherant movie.

This reminds me that I really should watch the unrated cut sometime, after all I went to the trouble of importing the Legacy Collection from Australia purely for the unrated cut.

A hybrid of the PG-13/Unrated would be great. There's some scenes better in the theatrical and vice versa.

I still own 4.0 on DVD due to the Unrated not being released on Blu here, and I'll be damned if I ever rebuy any of the Die Hard films again unless they come with Bruce Willis himself.

I must've owned the first 3 10 times over on various formats at one point.
