I noticed these were up for pre-order at amazon.de a while ago, figured a UK release wouldn't be too long in coming.

I'll be waiting on reviews before buying though, that and a 2 for £12 promotion.

According to Bluray-disc.de the DE edition is uncut...so I guess the other editions are uncut, too.

I saw both films at the local cinema opening week myself and they were a blast. That is how you do a parody film. Part Deux was stand-out hilarious!

These had better be uncut... otherwise, no sale. There was really no reason to cut these films in the first place, but the BBFC had no true confidence in the 12 rating in the early 90's, so they just released them as cut back PGs for the video releases, even though they were both uncut 12s at the cinema (though I think Part Deux was always cut, because of the chainsticks at the begining). The DVDs were cut back even more than the videos, aswell.

According to the BBFC both of the 12 certificate theatrical versions were cut - there are no details for Hot Shots cinema cuts but it lost 22 seconds on its transition to a PG home video release. Hot Shots Part Deux! was cut by 54 seconds for its 12 certificate cinema version and the PG video version by 1 minutes 7 seconds (though it doesn't say if this is inclusive of the 54 seconds previously cut or not).

Both DVDs were allegedly passed as uncut in 2001 but both lose something from the early 90s video classification - Hot Shots is 21 seconds shorter on DVD and Hot Shots Part Deux! is 1 minute 53 seconds shorter. No idea why, but looking at this and having been slightly too young to have seen them at the cinema, I've realised that I've been missing out all these years!

Hot Shots Cut Comparison

Hot Shots Part Deux Cut Comparison

Can't see why they cut out a whole Basic Instinct spoof.

He's a god. I've loved him ever since. God I've seen these movies so many times.

Has anyone heard if these will be region locked? If there are any extras, I may just have to snap it up if it's region free

The german blu-rays each have a 20+ minute featurette on it.
I think they are similar to the ones on the US DVDs
