Could Skyrim be making its way to next-gen systems?

An email sent out earlier today may indicate Bethesda will be announcing this on the 12th of January. Along with the email, the Bethesda website lists Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game on its product listing. One thing of note with the product listing is that the versions of the game that have already been released, such as the Xbox 360 version are highlighted with a link, while the next-gen versions are not, yet.

It seems odd that Bethesda would be updating the game for next-gen consoles due to its age, but I suppose it’s not out of the question as Tomb Raider is doing the same thing.

Redditors are confirming they got the email so this seems pretty legit.

I'd say its a solid bet that Skyrim will get re-released on PS4!!!

To many people the PS3 experience was very underwhelming and to finally get it on PS4 with all the DLC should be fantastic.

I'd be down for revisiting Skyrim on PS4. I sunk more hours into that game than I have any game before it.

While having Skyrim on the PS4 is cool & all, how aboot giving us some info on Fallout 4? Huh, Bethesda?

As long as it's not just a half-assed port of the PC version and something more along the lines of the revamp they're doing for Tomb Raider, I'm down. Throw in early access to the Elder Scrolls Online beta and it's a no-brainer.

I'll never support them after Skyrim on the PS3. Releasing an unplayable game is a capitol offense.

I loved Skyrim (haven't played through any of the DLC yet), but I'd be more interested in a revamped PS4 version of Fallout 3, though I know that would never happen.

That being said, as someone else said, if this is more along the lines of what they're doing with Tomb Raider, I'll gladly consider re-buying.

It was a bug on their site that listed it for these consoles. Bethesda loves their bugs.
