A few years ago, I couldn't pass up on a deal for an APC H15 Power Conditioner.
I figured I would be protecting my AV Gear and possibly increase its life and performance. After recently reading various posts on "protection" threads on this Forum, I pondered. I'm quoting a post I read... "MOV's are sacrificial by nature"..."and over time they degrade". This made me think... I realize my APC H15 is a Surge Protector, but I like the Conditioning and AC Voltage Regulation and I'd hate to lose it if it got "Zapped". Therefore, I just purchased a Tripp Lite AV Surge Protector to go between my APC H15 and the wall outlet. In theory, I'd rather "Fry" the Tripp Lite and save the more expensive APC H15. Is anyone else doing something like this ??? |
