We are presenting 3-D and 2-D versions of both the Japanese and International versions, along with a separate disc comprised of copious extras - quite the package for anime fans! We recognize that this is unusual territory for us, but we were offered the opportunity because of our relationship with Toei Animation - (TT co-founder Brian Jamieson was Toei's marketing consultant for the worldwide release of the film) - and consequently we have been allowed to release the most comprehensive package for this movie on blu-ray anywhere in the world. We are proud to be associated with it, and hope there's at least a few of you that will take pleasure in some truly dazzling visuals - James Cameron, who has enthusiastically endorsed the project, considers Aramaki to be one of the greatest anime directors out there -- hop on board and try it -- you never know, you might like it!
TT may be doing special packaging for this release. They also mention the price likely being around $39.99, which isn't too bad

I wonder if this will have more or different extras than the Hong Kong version.

I have the premium HK 3D digipak version already, so the only reason for me to double-dip on this would be if it included the English dub - which I don't need for myself since I hate dubs, but I do need for showing it to guests in my theater. I've got a few people asking to see this, since I have the full-size theatrical poster included with the premium set mounted in one of my movie poster frames on my theater room wall, but I've held off showing it to anyone because having them try to watch 3D and read subs at the same time would probably drive them all crazy...

Also, I would be interested if it were to come in some nice specialty packaging like the HK version, but I don't think TT does anything like that at all...

TT doesn't do special packaging.
So it won't have a dc which is expected and it'll probably come in a standard case.
And don't forgot it'll be $35.99 as well.

First they get, not one, but two Yoji Yamada films and now anime too? Ugh. Don't like where this is headed at all.

I hope it isn't too much more. I mean I don't see why it would be unless this thing is going be 5 disc.

Don't forget for those that don't know. You can follow the Twilight Time thread located here.

Yes, with 3 discs included, one being 3D, it'll very likely be higher than their standard list price. Still, anime prices are typically high, so this isn't new territory for fans. It should be under $50 I imagine, and it sounds like it's going to be a great release based on them claiming it's the most comprehensive in the world.

$40 isn't too bad then counting for the 3D I guess. I'm interested to see how this will be the best release and what will make it that.
