Japan El Cid / Fall Of The Roman Empire (5/21/2012)

Via Paramount Japan

Paramount page at Amazon Japan

Unlike the German and UK discs, these will be Region A compatible, and priced quite low. They will both be part of the "2 for 3000 yen" sale, to make it quite reasonable for a Japanese release. Although it seems the extras won't be ported over....

The Amazon listings don't say about audio or sub options. I'll update when I find out more information.

Default El CId Japan

I have the DVD from Japan which has Japanese subtitles only and sound track in English. (I also have Miriam Collection and German Blu Ray). I have ordered the Blu Ray from CD Japan, although the disc is mroe expensive the shipping is very much less.
I am trying to find out whether this uses the same master as the Euro Blu Rays or the Japanese DVD or something else. The websites say 1.78 but I hope this is the usual incompetence and it will be 2.35 at minimum.
Based on all my other Japanese discs I would not expect any English or other foreign langauage subtitles.
The good news is it is Region A as my German Blu Ray (and the UK release) are locked and only play on my imported Region B player and not on my computers or portable Blu Ray Pana.

Is this the same transfer as the UK release? Are the subtitles burned in?
