Universal Pictures is scheduled to release Monty Python's Flying Circus: The Complete Series 1-4 to Blu-ray on Nov 10, 2020. Fully restored in HD.

This is good news for those of us that didn't want to import that massive set with all the packaging problems.

Both this and the previous set are listed as 7 discs so I'm guessing they'll be the same.

My brain hurts.

The Aussie and UK sets also say 7, so I'd assume it's 7. I saw the Aussie one was coming out and figured it'd make it's way here eventually. These look like they should be standard sets, maybe individual cases in a box or one larger case with a slipcover.

This really came out of left field!

Guessing Network made some deal with Universal to make this happen. Makes me wonder if Network should continue with this? There's a lot of UK stuff that needs to come Stateside.

At any rate, I already have the big Norwegian Blu-ray edition so I'm good. But it's great to see a standard release.

I actually like the massive box set, that includes at least a 100 page booklet for each season
that to me is worth more then having all the discs in one case

Great news, I bought the Network boxset day 1 but hopefully a wider release worldwide helps lead to further python releases (maybe Live at drury lane next)

I was going to pick up the individual Network sets, but I'm guessing I'll save money and space with this one. I just did the whole run (again) on Netflix back at the start of Covid, so I can wait a little longer for this set.

A little OT, but I just had to put my $0.02 in on this.

I am in the same boat. As somebody who originally bought complete sets of Python, The Avengers, The Prisoner, Friends and The X-Files, I sometimes feel like the disparity in price between then and now is some sort of punishment for being an early consumer.

Between inflation adjustment and the continuing (and drastic) reduction in the market for physical media, shouldn't the prices for any type of disc be going way up instead of down?

At the same time, I am thrilled sets of this scope can be had for $100.
