There was a instagram post from a person who visited the Criterion office in February and he said that it was more then likely that Criterion was going to release it.

If they do release it great, but nobody should be holding their breath.

Dude what? Nowhere on the post does it mention anything about Peter Becker saying that it was "interesting". All he said was "talked to CEO Peter Becker about Roma" and that was it. Someone in the comments then asked if Criterion was releasing it, and all he said was that it was "very likely". This could mean that they had the rights to it already and he was just being mum about it or that Criterion was finalizing a deal with Netflix at the time of the post (but that has been finalized with the TOSOTW announcement). Love how you tell me to go back and read the original post when it's clear that you didn't even bother to read it.

I love Orson Welles.

Tried to watch this once on Netflix and couldn’t make it past 30 minutes.

...what does the title even mean?

So….as I’m binging on all things Orson Welles….taking a break while my brain tries to wrap itself around Charlton Heston being Mexican…

Is this happening?

It would be nice. Certainly doesn't seem to be much urgency on this title, though.

Surprised the Orson Welles titles dried up with Criterion. Not only this, but they definitely had Mr. Arkadin (Confidential Report). Thought I heard they had The Trial too.

I wouldn't say they've totally dried up but they have certainly become less frequent. Citizen Kane was released at the end of 2021. The Trial is expected to be announced/released this year.

They do still have the rights to Mr. Arkadin and it's currently streaming on the Criterion channel. I'm still hopeful they plan to upgrade this.

Of course, there is also the potential for future 4K upgrades of the other 5 Welles Criterion Blu-rays, which I think are likely but probably not going to be anytime soon.

And there has been very little new info on a release of TOSOTW. Hopefully we will hear something positive soon.

I'm one of the fools who contributed 7 years ago now on indiegogo with promises of blu-ray copies, coffee table books, etc. Not only did none of those rewards ever appear (for anyone) but there was never a final explanation, or even an apology... radio silence for years now...
