Default Cloud streaming overseas?

Hi,

A question for those who know.... Will my itunes cloud items and my Vudu account work if I go to UK?...

I'm going this summer (would rather skip the trip but that's another story) and have all kinds of movies in iTunes and UV.

I don't normally use my DCs but they could be handy if it's an easy way to bring a lot of my collection with me.

Thanks,

Brian

I generally don't stream, but from my experience (I live in Greece and I have US, UK and Greek accounts on iTunes and a US account for Vudu), here's what works.

You can download movies from iTunes and play them anywhere as long as you are logged into your account. Streaming works as well on my PC (worked it just now).

Vudu lets you download your movies on your PC, iOS devices etc for later viewing. I can't stream my movies from the website or from my PS3 though

Flixster is region-locked so I don't think you'll be able to access it.

iTunes works worldwide. It doesn't depend on your geographical location but the billing address in your profile. As long as you don't change any of that, it will work.

As for Ultraviolet, Nook Video app for iOS works worldwide. But the problem is that they don't have many titles in their library.

Vudu and the others need a DNS server service. I recommend unblock-us : http://www.unblock-us.com/ . Register, pay around 4$ for a month, enter the DNS numbers they give you and you're all set. They have a one week free trial too.

Once again, iTunes and Nook don't require a DNS service.

Thanks for the replies....

I suppose I could down load some of my Vudu stuff....

And, it's great to know the iTunes stuff should work... I think I have about 160 movies in there from DCs that came with Blus. Lots of kids movies (like bugs life ect) so this makes it easy for me (as I will have my 3 kids with me.)

No more bringing physical copies when I travel... that's nice... I used to have that be part of my packing list.

Hi Brian,

While VUDU isn't available in the UK, other retailers (like Flixster) will work to stream your UltraViolet titles. We hope this helps!

Thanks,

You can also try the "Hola Better Internet" extension on Chrome to set country to USA and then stream on PC/Laptop.
