What determines your choice of format when buying movies?
For me any movie released prior to 2006 would be bought on DVD since HD wasn't available before then and all old movies being re-released on Blu-Ray are only being remastered. Movies from 2006 I would buy in Blu-Ray if the price is right. 3D Blu-rays are reserved for movies with spectacular special effect mainly Action and Sci-Fi, definitely wouldn't buy romance, thriller, drama, comedies etc. in 3D. I also try to identify whether the movie was originally shot in 3D or not if it wasn't I don't bother buying the 3D version which is just a computer gimmick. What informs your choice? |
