Some interesting Universal Studio UV code info. - Blu-ray Forum

I found some interesting stuff about some of the older Universal codes today. I realized I had never redeemed 2 of my Bourne codes from the target steelbooks. I had redeemed Ultimatum when I got it to see if Universal had updated the codes to HD on Itunes or UV and they had not at that time. I checked the other codes today and here's what I found out.

UV: I don't know. I did not redeem them. I gave them away on a different site and haven't heard back yet how they redeemed.

Amazon: They give you an Amazon code but the code won't work. I was charged for Identity and had to open a chat to get refunded. They did give me a free copy of the movie so that was nice. SD only but oh well. They did not have to do anything when they refunded the order. The rep said Universal's Amazon codes expired on Dec 31 2013. When I entered the code it did not say anything about expired. It took the code fine, but it won't give you a $0 copy.

Itunes: They now give HD copies

Not sure if it's true of all old Universal codes or not but at least the Bourne copies are now HD. I wish I hadn't tested Ultimatum now. It's my only SD itunes copy now.

If anyone is holding old duplicate copies they may want to try them again. Also, if your skittish about buying a bourne code from the trade forums you should be able to get an HD copy now assuming the seller is honest with their source.
