Same here! I've got a lot of favorites from this decade that carry way way back to childhood, though, and my first viewing of Seconds was not long ago.
This is the first decade where I'm having to kick some highbrow favorites (the Godard films, the Antonioni films, etc.) to the curb in favor of movies that I grew up watching (the Sean Connery Bond films, etc.). |

The Cremator (Herz, 1969) 8. Persona (Bergman, 1966) 9. Once Upon a Time in the West (Leone, 1968) 10. Au Hasard Balthazar (Bresson, 1966) 11. La Jetée (Marker, 1962) 12. Breathless (Godard, 1960) 13. Yearning (Naruse, 1964) 14. Lawrence of Arabia (Lean, 1962) 15. Chimes at Midnight (Welles, 1965) 16. Le révélateur (Garrel, 1968) 17. To be fair I haven't seen half of yours either, but they're all on my 60s watchlist except for A Touch of Zen which I'll add now. I heartily recommend any and all of which you can get your hands on, the only ones I can't find on English friendly DVDs are Silence Has No Wings, Death by Hanging, Happy End, and AKA Serial Killer. Although I believe Death by Hanging might be on Criterion's Hulu channel by now, the others might be on YouTube. Lemonade Joe has an English friendly region free Czech Blu-ray that goes for around $30-35. If you haven't seen The Cremator I say go for that one first, it's an absolutely sensational film and shouldn't be too hard to get a hold of.

Awesome list, Gentle Giant!!
SimBelm, I hope you'll give A Touch of Zen a chance. I can't see how it isn't the definitive Wuxia film. It's also a hell of a spectacle. Even on the smallest screen, it is built to impress. Happy End sounds very intriguing. I'm very interested in films with non-linear structures. |

I'm also a sucker for non-linear films, Happy End feeds right into that, I hope when Criterion get around to doing another Czech New Wave set that it will be on there. |
