Shouldn't that be Boogey Man? That's how the film title has always been spelled and marketed in America, and it is an American movie. Not that I have any interest in revisiting this turkey, mind you!

Yeah. I updated the title. I think the Bogey Man artwork is the reverse.

Compared to the dreck that hack of a director is still spewing out, this one seem like high art. IMDB list 57 director credits, 23 "movies" since 2000 alone, and he's filming his third sequel to this... I think he's trying to top Jess Franco in sheer quantity.

I think it's just awful and boring, whereas with most of Uli Lommel's other output, you'd have to expect sincere brain damage. But I give him credit for his great The Tenderness Of Wolves (1973), a gritty true crime drama about german serial killer and cannibal Fritz Haarmann, produced by Rainer Werner Fassbinder.

We are happy to report that The Bogey Man has sold out 1500 copies since it went on sale on Monday making it the biggest selling independent release this week and our biggest seller so far. We are repressing it this week. We can only thank our fans for their support and maintain that this success will go right back into our slasher range. We are in this to bring your favourite films back to the shelves, not to get a new BMW!

that's great and well deserved
pricing has no doubt helped as I feel they are a bargain at price
also having reversible art and red cases and great cult films makes them must buys for me
thanks alot keep up the good work

Was floored with the quality of The Boogeyman. Having had the previous double bill DVD with The Devonsville Terror, the transfer is a revelation, just beautiful. Would love to see Prozzie hit Blu now, Suzanna Love is/was a stunner.

Great news. Especially as a master was available for sometime, but no one seemed interested in putting this out here. I'm glad you guys took the risk, and I'm happy it paid off. I'm a huge fan of the film, I imported the CMV mediabook from Austria, yet still double dipped on this, especially at the £8.99 price point. I'm sure the price helped sales, I just hope you guys are able to make enough back.

Such a shame that the materials for Boogeyman 2 and 3 (less shame about 3 I guess) have been lost. Boogeyman 2 wasn't half bad and there's a cheap DVD release out there with the original theatrical cut, stay clear of the director's cut though.

Feel a little bit disappointed that The Boogey Man has been such a runaway success as while I want 88 Films to do well as I love their releases - this included - I'd hate for them to see films like this as where the money's at and then overlook other entries like ones in this collection that are far far better like Mother's Day, Slaughterhouse or Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers. Although Slaughterhouse is really the only true Slasher out of those.

I think the only film worse than The Boogey Man in this collection so far is Don't Go In The Woods... but that film is far more fitting of the slasher title and so I'd be sooner to support it than this which is not a very good film and not really a slasher either.
