Why is Quick Reply disabled by default? - Blu-ray Forum

I don't really understand why Quick Reply isn't active by default. Every other forum I've been to has always had it active, without any need to click a QR button in someone's post. The site's software is capable of doing this, and it would make posting much easier in my opinion. Forgive if there actually is an option to turn it on by default, and I just missed it.

I've never understood this either. And there doesn't appear to be a user option for it either.

It should definitely always be on. Would make things much easier.

Could you explain to me what QR you're referring to that would be easier than the already simple buttons available? I'm not entirely sure what you mean.

The Quick Reply box is grayed out by default, and must be "activated" by hitting the quick reply button in someone else's post. Is that the case for you Strumdogg?

I've been to hundreds of forums, many with the same software this site is running, and it's never been grayed out by default. I doubt it's to control spammers, as any spambot that's familiar with the site's software can figure out how to post a reply, and many do get through on a regular basis.
