Germany Bunker of the Dead 3D Blu-ray (2015) [Region Free] [Germany only]

This doesn't have its own dedicated thread here in the 3D forum. I got my copy the other day, I'm yet to watch the while thing but I've watched the first few minutes. Good lord the 3D is strong in this lol. It's almost eye watering in terms of how strong it is!

So I believe this is a Russian production, but the German blu has a dubbed English track.

I've read some very positive feedback from other forum members here about the 3D and based on the first few minutes, I can totally see why.

Should be a warning that the hand held camera work with the 3D strength can induce nausea.

The whole film is shot in first-person view so it will certainly be a bit much for the "keep it behind the screen" brigade, but for me all that was induced when I was watching this was pure pleasure.

1. This disc is not region B locked.
2. I personally found the perspective distortion detracted from the 3D and didn't get a sense of strong 3D at all because of it.
3. Nazi zombies are still fun.

They certainly didn't hold back on the 3D, based on those first few minutes. I'll watch the whole movie very soon.

So this was shot in 3D with GoPro? Interesting, might get a copy to see how 3D look like.

I had a difficult time shooting 3D with GoPro for my graduation project last year, but GoPro cameras do deliver a special 3D experience:

Runors are Hardcire Henry was shot with two GoPros for stereosopic conversion, but ... I don’t know if it’s true and unlikely we’ll ever see it.

Based on the set photo, it looks like a special stereosopic helmet for GoPro.

I watched the movie last night, great fun what a blast and the 3D was so strong. It's as much an action movie as it is a horror movie. I do love movies about people exploring old abandoned places (like Chernobyl Diaries) so Bunker of the Dead delivered that kind of experience in spades. The fx were good, it was well made, the 3D was excellent, what more could you ask for.

One criticism I have though is something they reveal at the very start
[Show spoiler] as the movie opens with a bit of a flash forward to the protagonist in the bunker getting chased by zombies, then they turn around and zombie Hitler is there. I think it was a big mistake to show this right at the start as it spoils a potential big surprise later in the movie. If they hadn't shown Hitler at the very beginning it would have been a funny surprise at the end of the movie when he's revealed properly.
They should have just cut those first few minutes IMO.

Anyway a great 3D experience and a must for fans of 3D horror.

I can’t even imagine seeing that, but I’d like to try. Bring a bucket.

You can rent the 2d version on Youtube, otherwise I would imagine this is not possible. You can watch a 2d trailer on Youtube that gives you a solid idea of what you'll be in for.

BTW, what is the native language for this? The US 2D release only has English. IMDB says English as the language also. Just that English was was mentioned above as a Dub

Probably German or Russian.

The English track is a dub but the nature of the shoot means it's all dubbed anyway - you don't need to worry about lip sync much when you're filming in first person.

Your review has me intrigued @levcore to check it out. Found a review in German of the 3D Blu-ray here (use Google Translate).
