I'am interested in knowing and finding more films about French history. Particularly the Revolution, Napoleonic wars, and WW2. I would be open to other suggestions such as the conquest of Gaul by Julius Caesar and the Middle Ages. Films that I would add to the topic are:
Waterloo, I only had a Korean DVD as I don't think this film ever saw a release stateside on DVD. The Sorrow and the Pity, a really interesting documentary about the French government during the German occupation of 1940-1945 under Petain. Napoleon, the silent era film that has never seen the light of day outside of a few screenings and a Coppola restoration. |
