Default Runner Runner - 1/7/14

Coming to Blu-ray on January 7th, starring Justin Timberlake, Ben Affleck, Gemma Arterton, and Anthony Mackie. I enjoyed this in theaters despite most everyone hating it, and it was nice to have Gemma Arterton back on screen. This comes out the same day as Closed Circuit, another film I greatly enjoyed.

Ben Schwartz of House of Lies and Dayo Okeniyi of The Hunger Games had small roles in this as well.

I will get it as well, not surprised it's coming out so soon after such a weak box office run.

What a terrible film. Terrible dialogue. Terrible acting. Was Justin Timberlake even trying? Makes me wonder how this even got to open in 3,026 theatres.

Surely I can't be the only one who cannot stand this man?

Anyway, I heard Ben Affleck brought in his Argo editor to try and salvage this mess but it was beyond saving, which makes one wonder.....

With Ben Affleck's recent career turnaround, WTF is he doing in this movie? I can't think of anything else other than, paid vacation and a really quick shoot?

Or the studio destroyed the movie.

Either way, I could never stand JT. No matter what he does.

If I loved the trailer for this and couldn't wait to see the actual film, should I try and get this?

I think it came and went at my local theaters and I couldn't catch it in time, but I really want to see the movie because it looked so good to me.

How does this rate in the "If you liked the trailer, you will like this movie" department?

This movie was so BLAH. I was like you, the trailer looked super good plus it had Ben Affleck in it, JT (I love but he can barely act) and one of top 5 fave British actresses, Gemma in it. So I figured I'd use my last $15 on VUDU and got it the day it early released.

This film was literally a big stinking pile of meh. It wasn't awful, it wasn't great, it was just there. Take that what you will.

JT isn't a great actor to begin with, in "In Time" Amanda Seyfried made him look like a chump...great music though

Sorry, the redemption code you have entered is not valid for the territory you are currently trying to redeem from.

Can't help but wonder why Ben Affleck decided to do this one? Had to have been some incredible amount of cash here. I mean this is a busy dude between working with Fincher, becoming the next Batman, directing his own films, and then this terrible thing.

I got to the part where Timberlake goes to the hotel to confront his Father and that was all I could handle.

So judging by what I've read here, this movie is NOT worth the blind buy?

I got the same error. I had to call Fox(the 1-888 number should be on the UV insert) and the CSR quickly gave me a new code which worked.

Strangely, I also had an issue redeeming the UV code for The Following Season 1 that same day and had to use Flixster's chat feature to have their CSR manually add the episodes to my account.

Not a good week for new UV code redemptions.

Redbox it and if you like it, wait for it to drop below $10 which shouldn't be long

Honestly, this film isn't worth the price of a $1 rental.

just finished this, the movie had potential but the script was weak

i thought Affleck acted his part well, Timberlake wasnt bad, but i thought Anthony Mackle's acting in this was terrible

it really is a mediocre movie but not a terrible movie like broken city, i dont get why Affleck would agree to do this film, seems like hes better than these movies now

i got the blu-ray for $10 off ebay, wouldnt recommend paying more than that for it

i give it a 5.5 out of 10 rating

Really bad movie which sucks because I was hoping it would be good considering there was Affleck and Timberlake.

The performances aren't bad, the script is just

Just watched it again, I am one of the few that enjoys this film! I love the nice, filmic quality of the transfer, as well.

It's just ****ing stunning to me that these same guys wrote Rounders, easily one of the best card movies of all time. Then they wrote the majority of ESPN's Tilt series which was certainly worth watching, if not a bit cheesy. Now they take another very interesting subject (at least to me since I was an online player, thankfully not a bigtime one) and turn out this shit? Most disappointed I've been in a film in quite some time. Wait for cable or a free Redbox coupon!

Sorry, I try to stay away from bashing films cuz I know all have fans, but this is a warning for those who asked.

When I started this thread, I assumed it would be a nice way for those of us who enjoyed the film and those interested in it to connect and discuss, but that is not the case. I think we now get the message that many of you did not connect with the film.
