This was up for preorder now it has been discontinued on Amazon. This was supposed to be released to tomorrow 10/6/09. Anyone know about the Region 1 Blu for this? Just up until the other day you could still pre order it. Now....

It's a Canadian release. Don't bother, it's only 1080i, not 1080p.

It's a Canada only-release, and still available from Amazon.ca. 1080i video and decent sound from what I've heard. I'd wait for the official US release instead of importing, though.

If it was the canadian release why would it be on the US site? I know the canadian release is on their site but I could ahve swore the Bits said the US release would be on 10/6........

It's probably the Canadian release from Alliance. Here is the Blu-ray.com page for that release. It is a Region A release.

Nope, I'm not sure where you are getting your information but there is currently no scheduled US release for this title.

Sometimes 1080i is all we can get from certain elements and untill someone else comes foward with a better transfer, this is going to be the best release of the film. Its one of the few BD releases produced by Alliance themselves that includes any extras (Outlander being the second release) and a nice premium "photo" keepsake.

If you are a fan, its not a bad purchase.

I want this movie bad (along with all the other Beatles films) but I'll be holding out for an American release with an actual 1080p remastered transfer.

Yeah, it came out about a month ago. It's already been reviewd on DVDBeaver.

Amazon US could be getting stock on the Canadian release on Oct 6th and sell that as an import release. They have done it before.

It is listed as an import but the listing doesn't seem to be the Canadian version. Listed as Phantom Sound & Vision which based on a search of this site seems to be an Australian company. Listed as discontinued before it was even supposed to be out though so also looks to be a screw up

Its an odd case. Most Canadian discs that have been listed on amazon.com before have been listed with a "release date" much later than that of the Canadian one. 101 Distribution has a bunch of Canadian discs on Amazon, but usually didn't have them available for sale there for a while after we got them in Canada.

Or, until the Weinsteins get off their hine-steins, learn how to do 1080p properly (ahemgodzilla), and get the heck around to releasing THEIR US-rights version.

This is a Miramax title but Disney still holds the distribution rights to it. Any Miramax and Dimension films made prior to the formation of The Weinstein Company will still be handled by Disney.

I'd like to see "A Hard Day's Night" get a US release as well, I have both the pretty collectable 1.37 version from MPI and the 2-disc 1.66 Mirimax release which can be found usually around 14.99 or less pretty much anywhere, the print is very nice for a DVD, but the sound is better I think on the MPI version. Here's what Apple Corps needs to do, make the ultimate version of AHDN with great PQ,audio and all the suppliments from all previous version as well as the awesome making of documentary called "You Can't Do That- The Making of A Hard Days Night"
