Default Must-own DVD box sets?

Lately I have been grabbing some DVD sets that either have no blu-ray upgrades or the likeliness of them all happening soon isn't very high despite the fact that they really should be.

Most notably, I've grabbed The Val Lewton Horror Collection and The Film Noir Classics Collection Volume 1, both of which are from warner and look surprisingly great for being SD and feature good extras.

My question is this; could you recommend great DVD box sets featuring films not yet on blu? Horror, film noir etc, films with an edge to them.
