Just saw this classic for the first time today, and I loved it! Gene Hackman is great as always. Would love to have this on Blu-ray. Anyone heard of a release date?

Spot on! This is a great flick. A fine example of those sultry, private-eye thrillers of the 1970s. You can feel the opressive weight of the summer air on the gulf coast of Florida. It would look great on blu-ray. Great movie!

I'm a huge fan of the French director Eric Rohmer (The Green Ray, One Night at Maude's, A Summer's Tale, etc.) - though, I understand that his character & dialogue-centric films are not for everyone. So, I've always been amused by the line in the film when Hackman's character talks about going to see a Rohmer film: "I saw a Rohmer film once. It was kind of like watching paint dry." ![]() Last edited by AnamorphicWidescreen; 04-14-2014 at 12:43 PM. |

This is an example of needing someone like Criterion or Twilight Time to have access to the WB library. Warner has a great library and they sit on films. When they do release titles it is The Man Who Knew Too Little or what they are best at doing, re-issues.

Not likely to happens as Warner does not license its films, but for one or two.
