Michael Bay's "The Last Ship" comes to TNT on June 22

"The crew of a naval destroyer is forced to confront the reality of a new existence when a pandemic kills off most of the earth's population."http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2402207/

"Coming right on the heels of Starz's announcement today of a January premiere date for Michael Bay's first TV venture, the pirate drama "Black Sails," is TNT's news that a series order has been given for another small screen project from the blockbuster king. "The Last Ship" has been greenlit for 10 episodes by the network with plans to launch in 2014.

Based on the 1988 novel of the same name by William Brinkley, "The Last Ship" follows the Navy destroyer U.S.S. Nathan James, whose captain and crew become some of the few remaining survivors on the planet after a global catastrophe. Eric Dane, late of "Grey's Anatomy," stars as Captain Tom Chandler, a respected officer and loving father and husband. Rhona Mitra ("Strike Back") is Rachel Scott, a paleomicrobiologist assigned to the Nathan James to investigate the cause of billions of deaths worldwide. Adam Baldwin ("Firefly," "Chuck") plays Slattery, the ship's second-in-command, while Tracy Middendorf ("Boardwalk Empire") takes the role of Darien Chandler, the captain’s wife.

Bay and his Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form serve as executive producer on the series, alongside showrunner Hank Steinberg ("Without a Trace") and Steven Kane ("The Closer"). The pilot was written by Steinberg and Kane and directed by Jonathan Mostow ("U-571"). You can say this for Bay -- TV may be new territory for him, but he's keeping to what he knows best within it, with both "Black Sails" and "The Last Ship" having a lot in common with the action-heavy movies with which he made his name."
