Argento's OPERA (1987) ~ Is the Japanese Blu-ray worth the price? - Blu-ray Forum

I'm using google translate on some reviews over on the Amazon Japan website where I see some 1 star reviews. Google translate is useless but I'm getting the feeling that this is a blu-ray to avoid. I read that the blu-ray isn't much better than the DVD. Also, amazon lists this at a 1.78 ratio! I know they've been wrong before so can anyone who speaks English post your thoughts on this release?

Dedicated thread, including caps and link to thorough appraisal by Michael Mackenzie. It definitely isn't 1.78:1 (incorrect specs on Amazon?? Unprecedented!!) The general consensus seems to be far from optimal but better than the dvds. Diehards only?
