I have a local video store that buys the 3D combo packs and just uses the 2D blu ray and DVD for rentals and sells the 3D discs in original cases for about $8-$10. Trouble is I only have 1 3D TV and I often watch movies on my non 3D tv for various reasons, which I need the discs to play in 2D. I was under the impression that the only studio that locks 2D playback on 3D discs was Disney, as my 3D copies of Desolation of Smaug and Transformers 4 work on my 2D player and TV. But I finally got around to watching The Battle of the Five Armies and my 2D play gave me an error and told me to plug in a 3D TV.
Is this normal on all 3D releases now, so I can't get these cheap 3D copies on release day? Last edited by Jake2104; 09-24-2015 at 12:18 AM. |
