United Kingdom Brokeback Mountain UK vs. US audio

Hey all, I've bought the UK release of Brokeback Mountain recently (not yet dispatched), and I've just noticed that the listing on here says the UK release only has Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, whilst the US release has DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 (48kHz, 24-bit).

Is this correct? If so I'll cancel my order and import from somewhere (any suggestions, anyone?).

My partner loves this film and I want to make sure to get everything in the best quality.

Edit: according to this thread the UK version also has a noticeable pause when the layer changes, is this not in the US version?

Thanks for the answer, I'll import a US copy then.

Anyone know the cheapest/best place?

The shipping costs on amazon.com can be very high - try here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/DVDs-Blura...SIA%2529&rt=nc

What additional sounds are you hoping to hear more clearly?

Haha

I would just rather get the "best" version of the film. Shameful to include audio that would be at home on a DVD.

I don't understand why there's a difference in audio quality between the two versions to be honest.

It's always puzzling why different regions get different encodes, I reckon. To add another variation: both the US and UK releases are encoded in VC-1, and the AU release is an MPEG-4 AVC encode.

The AU release also has both a DTS-HD MA 5.1audio track, and a DD5.1. If nothing else, the lossless audio helps you to understand what the heck Heath Ledger is saying!
