Default Dark Souls 3

http://www.vg247.com/2015/06/02/sour...-announcement/

Quote:
Namco will announce Dark Souls 3 at E3, a source familiar with the matter has told VG247.

In news guaranteed to delight fans of the series, Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls and Bloodborne director Hidetaka Miyazaki is again heading the team.

Miyazaki, the father of the Souls series, moved onto a supervisory role for Dark Souls 2. Tomohiro Shibuya and Yui Tanimura co-directed the sequel.

The platform to be used for the announcement is as yet unknown, but our source guessed the title may come during Sony’s E3 press conference on the Californian evening of Monday, June 15.

We received no specific details of the game itself.

Dark Souls 2 settled two points higher on Metacritic than the original, but some fans and reviewers disparaged the sequel over the fairness of its approach to Souls’ trademark ultra-hard difficulty level.

Series-watchers may be shocked at the announcement’s timing: Sony dev boss Shuhei Yoshida confirmed in late May that Bloodborne is to be expanded, and that more details will be announced “later this year”.

E3 takes place in Los Angeles on the week commencing June 15. We’ve reached out to Namco for comment.
I have a hard time believing that tbh, as it would seem more logical that Bloodborne DLC would be worked on (and Sony would probably be more interested in banking a BB2 probably), but why not?

Only played Bloodborne but if DS3 plays like Bloodborne than I'm in. Heard DS is a much slower and punishing game than BB.

Does seem more likely we'll get DLC for BB rather than a new game announcement unless the game is 2017+.

It did say at the bottom that they are working on expanding Bloodborne. Additional content to come out later in the year I believe.

I haven't played Dark Souls 2 but both Demon Souls and the first Dark Souls are slower games and both much, much harder in my opinion than Bloodborne. In those games it's the opposite of Bloodborne, you actually have a shield and want to wait for openings before you attack. Sometimes you can get in a strafing/circling battle with certain non boss types for quite awhile. Well, then again I was never great at parrying which would have taken care of that problem rather quick.

Hopefully won't come sooner than 2017, for selfish reasons

I started Demon's Soul and it's not THAT different from Bloodborne, obviously you can block and use magic, but still found it very familiar (so far)

Bloodborne twitter is teasing something E3 related. Could go either way as Bloodborne is a dark game and world and we are expecting DLC.

If Miyazaki's at the helm, then I'm all in.

In what way? I ask because I still haven't played it, only Demon and the first Dark Souls. I hear from a lot of people Dark Souls II dropped the ball.

What didn't you like about it?

I heard that a lot, too. I played the game on the PS4 and couldn't put it down. Had 80+ hours on my first playthrough. If you are a fan, give it a chance. You won't regret it. Especially since it's been on sale and will continue to go down in price.

I'll be first in line buying Dark Souls 3.

Biggest was 10 respawn limit on enemies. I ended up stuck in an area for awhile dying at the boss and having run through a rather long journey of desolation. Didnt like the smaller timed summoning aspect ad it seemed most people used that as opposed to the full one. I didnt like how every area had multiple bosses. Made it feel more disjointed. And it just didnt feel the same overall.

The limited respawns was okay with me. Even with limited farming opportunities, you ended up overpowered by NG+. And it sure made it much less tedious when you did have trouble with a difficult boss. I think I enjoyed most of it a little bit more than DS1, and found it a bit easier.

Sorry for my confusion but what do you mean by 10 respawn limit on enemies? Are you saying they made it easier and only up to 10 enemies will respawn if you die and have to start the area over?

what I understood is, if you died more than 10 times, enemies won't respawn, so you want be able to farm?

You could only kill each 10 times and they would stop respawning until either you completed the play through or burnt a bonfire ascetic to reset them.

Then I probably won't waste my time on that game. A decent part of these games isn't just learning the enemies and bosses attack patterns but grinding to level up. Unless you're that f***ing great or godlike at video games if you don't grind for levels in these games you do s*** damage against the bosses, even some of the regular enemies.

Hopefully they do away with that in DS 3. Such a stupid idea but then again, I guess it's to increase the difficulty somewhat. Even though my friend who got me into these games says DS2 is by far the easiest out of the first three games.

Hell, I still think Demon Souls is the hardest in some ways.

You would not find DS2 that difficult. Your friend is right, it was much easier than DS1. I understand they made the PS4 version more difficult, but for reasons that are not related to limited respawns. The regular enemies in DS2 were more challenging than in DS1, and that made me appreciate the fact that in difficult area you eventually got a reprieve. And it was far more efficient to farm souls by putting your soul sign down. The biggest downside was farming enemy drops, not souls.

They fixed this in SotFS though didn't they?
