I have had buttkickers, Crowson TES and D-BOX Motion Simulators. I think each of them adds a good experience when properly set up. Of the three, I feel the D-BOX is by far better but it is not really in the same category or price point.

Of the tactile transducers, it is my opinion that Crowson is the best, followed by Buttkicker, then Clark Synthesis, with Aura on the bottom of the list.

The Crowson is a much more efficient system and will give you comparable results to the butt kicker with much less power requirements and is much easier to install, resulting in a more elegant and ideal integration into a home theater system.

For a simple statement of how much I respect the quality of the Crowson system, I still have it on one of the seats in my theater, and I don't really cut many corners and always aims for best in class when I pick up a component.

Do you need dedicated theater seating for one of these are is there fitting for a "standard" sectional setup like I have?

I have been looking at adding a sub and this might compliment or replace the need for the second sub.

I am gonna use this thread rather than start a new one. I dont see many replies but anyone use the buttkicker brand vs the Aura brand and is there a noticeable difference in The effects? Just curious before I make my purchase.

Yeah, I'm interested too.
And you're right jw, this thread is dead. Anyone have this and can give some useful insight?

Here are some photo's of mine.

More shake than I need. Amp is only set on vol 3. Super reliable. I did get a audiable sound early on. Spoke to buttkicker and they told be to grease the piston with white liteium grease. No problems since. This shakes my whole body. Feet and arms included.

Anyone have any feedback on wireless ones? I built my room and opted NOT to get buttkickers to save money, but of course, I didn't wire the seats under the carpet.

You need wire to go from the amp to the shakers. the wireless kit is a wireless bridge that goes fom your AVR/Pre/Pro to the buttkicker amp. Still need the wire to go to the shakers.

Mine wasn't pre-wired. I just lifted my carpet, cut the underlay, layed the wire, re-taped the underlay and put the carpet back. No groves or anything.

Hi folks
I got my LFE kit from Musicians Friend http://www.musiciansfriend.com/buttk...uestid=2391483

They have the best prices I've found and usually run some pretty good coupon sales too
I got mine for 323 shipped

I wired my room in wall for these, 14gauge wire. I am currently hanging sheetrock and this was a last minute addition

Wow, Just in time. I love my buttkicker. Better than 3D.

What is sheetrock? Sounds awsome. May not be great for sound reflections tho.

Not well anyway.....I would say it takes at least two transducers to shake a 3 seat sofa section well. So 8 seats (assuming this is a sectional) would take roughly 3 or 4 transducers IMO.

Are you talking one amp or one shaker?

The buttkicker amp says it will run 4 shakers. I run 2 of one amp and have it set on 3/10. One shaker will only do one chair.

Ok, so I need 8 shakers, but 2 amps? 3 amps?

I have individual recliners (see my theater gallery).

This is good information

http://www.av-outlet.com/images/butt.../bk_wiring.pdf

I would do 2 Amps for 8 shakers, just watch how you wire them so you dont overload them or "ohm" them out persay
