Mad Dimension / Al!ve AG are releasing this in Germany. No word yet if it will include the much sought-after Director's Cut.

Glad to see that there is another release coming. I was very close to pulling the trigger on the Italian release. Now I'll wait to see what the specs are on this one. It would rule if it included both cuts of the film. Here's hoping...

If this came with both cuts, and the transfer is passable ill bite. Great film - always been a fan.

Now this, alongside Johnny Mnemonic, will be cool to see in high definition just for the Virtual Reality special effects alone!

Hope it will be the unrated cut, it was on VHS but not on DVD as far as i know.

The unrated "Director's Cut" of THE LAWNMOWER MAN was released on DVD in Germany (German soundtrack only) and in the UK (as a double-bill with a cropped letterboxed version of LAWNMOWER MAN 2 - JOBE'S WAR).
But the image quality of both DVDs is close to VHS because they used the same source material as the earlier VHS releases.

I doubt that the coming Blu-ray will include the Director's Cut in propper HD because afaik this version was only produced on video in the early '90s and has never been existent as a complete 35mm print that could be scanned in HD.
But if the coming release proves me wrong I'd be positively pleased.

I'm currently seeing 3 reviews on german amazon, two of which complain about the director's cut not being included, the third one discusses the quality and basically says its top quality and great to experience the movie this way. So that's at least good news.

Personally, I'm satisfied with the shorter cut as honestly, the additional material in the director's cut is IMO horrible and cheesy and the shorter version moves along at such a pace that it makes me overlook some of the bad acting and writing.
