I wonder how many more seasons this show is going to go on for.

I used to love the show, especially the first 4 seasons (2 is my favorite). Season 5 had its moments and 6 was so so, but 7 is by far the worst. If season 8 doesn't get better, I might be done with show.

They have so much confidence in the show, I keep hearingthe creators talk about Season 10, 11, 12, and beyond. I think having a show like THIS run that long to be a huge mistake. I still stick with it because I still like a few of the remaining characters and their development, but they are pushing the envelope if they expecting folks to stick around for 3-10 more years.

Season 7 was kinda weird to me. There was only about 4 episodes I really enjoyed.

With uncensored Negan it's gonna be fun!

I do wonder what my impression of this season would have been had I not caught up on all the comics, leaving me to somewhat know what was coming. Don't matter, I can't unread them now. I loved most of the season but can't wait for the restraints to be removed. I can see a CGI tiger turning lots of viewers off, hell, I might've been one. Just didn't seem quite as silly in the books.

Scott Gimple just recently said that it could last 20 years.

Don't get me wrong, I love the show. This and Game of Thrones are the only two on going shows that I watch weekly. I just hope the ratings stay good enough and we eventually get a proper ending instead of a rushed one.

Looks like source material won't be a problem any time soon.
Ratings are solid.
The only real hurdle I see for this show would be actor salaries, but the main cast seems pretty supportive of the show so it might not be an issue. Let's be honest, it wouldn't be very difficult to write them off if they did hold out.
So taking all that into consideration, I easily see his show going 10-12 seasons. Which is fine with me, I love it!
I can remember talking with a buddy of mine back in early 2010 when I first heard this show was in development and saying: "how can a show about zombies, possibly, work?"
Much like the suits at HBO that passed on this....boy, was I ever wrong.

I still like the show, but would like to see them re-simplify it. Go back to what made it interesting. Smaller group, and somewhat mobile. They need to leave Alexandria and head out for new territory, or head back South.

I'm guessing you won't like what will, probably, be happening next:

[Show spoiler]Alpha and the Whisperers!

Season 7 IMO had few great impactful episodes. However, many sluggish episodes brought it down. It seems its getting too formulaic in terms that it starts out great, then a long lull then the cycle begins again. I'm just not a fan of those episodes where they are separated to only be reunited in time for the season finale.

I'm still a fan but hope next season they tighten up the screws and make it better. Anyways, I wonder what the special edition will be?

Season 7 may be the weakest of the series, however I will continue to purchase the sets to complete my collection. Seeing how this season ended, the anticipation for Season 8 is definitely up there; but I do have a slight bit of nervousness given how the past several seasons have been handled.

Sorry, I had to quit it. The Game of Thrones comparison is a good one. That show clearly knows where it wants to go, and you can tell is heading to a conclusion. I did not quit this for any reason other than poor writing. It has no idea where it wants to go. I like comics, but it is a TV show written like a comic, and that does not work for me.

I may not get this one. Season 5 was the last season I truly enjoyed. I still haven't bought Season 6 yet. I thought that a few episodes of Season 6 were great, but it let me down in the end. Season 7 was to the point where I forgot to watch it until the end of the week, which at one time, I would have needed to be in jail or in a coma for that to happen.

That's my problem. I'll still go regardless.
I'm not one of those people who needs zombie action every episode, because if it was like that, I think I would have gotten tired of it a long time ago. I love the overall character development and human survival of the show. Some reason though, the Saviors have bored me since the season premiere. Still, I need to see what happens next. I've never given up on a show (if I ever decide to start one).

[Show spoiler]I do think Alpha and the Whisperers will be somewhat exciting because it's a completely new human threat and I think it's quite clever at how dangerous they really are.

In regards to your spoiler, most definitely. I love their concept and frankly, much more interesting of a community than the Scavengers are.
