Default MODS- can we get a place for Purple People

more and more i see the obligatory "IVE GONE PURPLE AND HERES WHY" threads. they all start and finish the same way and most people here i feel don't want to read it. can we get a separate area maybe even a thread dedicated to purple people? just wondering.

I submit that such an area would be an invitation to viral marketers and trolling of the worst kind. This forum is for Blu-ray. Neutral folks have many other choices e.g. AVS.

What the hell? Whats the name of this site again? Its called "Blu-ray.com" for a reason.

Why stop here. Go to the Republican party site and suggest a forum for independents and democrats. What a silly suggestion.

we have a place for neutral members. its called ''somewhere else''. kidding. I have no problem with neutral people. I just get sick of people feeling the need to justify it here. you don't even have to tell us about it. there's plenty of people here who simply put it in their sig, and leave it alone.

its like going to an AA meeting and saying ''i started drinking again, and let me tell you in recovery why it feels sooooooo good to be trashed''. that's not what we're here for. but its nothing personal. my thread ''why I will never go neutal'' is intended as a mild jab at everyone who posts threads that seem to be more ''here's my opinion that I feel everyone should know'' rather than a topic to discuss.

I DARE anyone to point to me one case where segregation as EVER failed! In the history of mankind, one unmistakable fact becomes clear: segregation works.

This is a forum that I come to to get information, converse with EDUCATED people that care about film and how it is presented and obviously to protest my love towards Blu ray. When I hear of people turning purple, troll rants, or even uneducated people giving wrong information it makes me sick and angry. Hearing people bash HD Dud for Correct and honest information makes me extremely happy, I believe that this forum should be about Blu ray and only Blu ray, its hilarious that thers maybe 5 - 10 % of threads that mention "that other format whos not even important enough to mention" yet HD Dud forums only talk about us; the ELITE, Blu ray.

Speaking only as myself and not a mod, because I don't set policy here, but I really don't see the need for people to talk about HD DVD here. There's topics in the off-topic area because that's exactly what it is. And unfortunately, where there are people who have gone "purple" intentionally, there are a lot of them posting that are actually trolling and using that as a way to get into peoples good graces and perform some subterfuge.

If you want to talk about HD DVD like we do about Blu-ray here, there are plenty of places on the internet to do it.

Yep.

I'd say most of the recent members that have "seen the light" of HD DVD are simply FUDsters from the other camp spreading exactly what you said under the guise of being neutral.

All "I have gone purple" threads will be removed, they don't really have a purpose, it's just one person venting.

It's simple: no HD-DVD, no purple, just Blu-ray
Purple people are of course welcome here, but only to discuss Blu-ray. There are other sites for discussing HD-DVD.
