Disney List of Disney/Buena Vista catalog Blu-ray releases of 20th Century Fox/Studios films

This is a list I intended to have consist of Disney-assembled (either reprint, modified reprint or uniquely assembled discs) releases of 20th Century Fox-era 20th Century Studios movies on Blu-ray.

NOTES:
  • North American releases will be added first to this list as having high priority, though suggestions may be made for more re-releases if necessary.
This list sorted by the release date of each Blu-ray Disc.

Releases under the 20th Century Studios label:

Releases under other Disney labels:
Lucasfilm, Ltd:

*Prior to Disney's DVD, Digital and Blu-ray releases, Willow was originally released in theaters by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, and was also advertised on other videos by MGM/UA Home Video during the theatrical release window.
Subsequent home video releases would be handled by RCA/Columbia Pictures Home Video & Columbia TriStar Home Video and then 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, who was the biggest distributor of Lucasfilm output at the time outside of the Indiana Jones franchise.

Stats that may or may not interest some people (as of 12/5/20, Related to main TCS label selection, and still needs to be updated, but laziness strikes again...):
77.8% consists of News Corporation-era Fox titles.
77.8% consists of PG-rated movies. only 11.1% each consist of a Not Rated (Miracle on 34th Street) and an R-rated movie. (The Rocky Horror Picture Show)
66.7% consists of films co-produced by Hughes Entertainment.
11.1% consists of films produced by Blue Sky Studios.

UPDATE TIMELINE:
12/5/2020 - Forum thread started
12/6/2020 - Added additional section for Fox titles released under other Disney labels. Added an addendum to the stats.
12/10/2020 - Added the newly released, Disney-assembled & distributed Die Hard collection to the list.
12/15/2020 - Added the Disney-assembled & distributed reprint of The Book of Life to the list.
2/7/2020 - Added the upcoming (at the time of writing, meaning temp covers will show up until the release window.) 4K Disney Blu-rays of Speed and Warner Bros. & Regency's Heat to the list.

Willow has always been owned by Lucasfilm. The original theatrical release was distributed by MGM, US video rights with Columbia. Fox took over home video distribution with the 2001 DVD and subsequent Blu-ray.

The list of "uniquely assembled" discs is going to be very, very short indeed. As this thread is likely to be.

Does anybody know if their reissue of Miracle on 34th Street (the original) has the new remaster that was apparently done and Fox never released on disc?

I hope a 4k release of the Planet of the apes films 1968-73. I know its catalogue but maybe. One can hope, oh and with better audio. Thanks for some news, John M.

I might have to consider having a separate section to this list for "Titles released under other Disney labels" at some point.
The current section is for titles released under the 20th Century Studios label.

These are all titles I will refuse to ever own in their repressings.

Maybe if 20th Century went all out on 4K UHDs or catalogue titles I would reconsider, but that isn’t exactly likely.

Do we know if any titles sublicensed to other labels have carried the Studios or Buena Vista name?

So there's a chance for more Fox titles to come out, under the Disney label.
I mean I'm not hopeful but I would love to see the likes of A Good Year and Thank You For Smoking among many others, to be released. Maybe Disney can learn that the vault mentality should be long dead (that is if they're holding IPs/films under lock and key).

I saw a Disney-style release of The Book Of Life in stores, and Disney Movie Club sure looks like it's selling new pressings of Fox stuff like Garfield, Alvin And The Chipmunks, The Sandlot, etc. I'm sure the disc contents are the same, but it's a sign Disney is actively repressing at least some of the Fox stuff.

I recently picked up a HA double feature, the slip was the old Fox style packaging but the inner box art was a new, repurposed Buena Vista design with a new code.

From what I can gather, the "Disc Made in Mexico" text on some cases means that most of the Disney-era pressings of Fox titles from the 21st Century Fox and prior eras seem to be pressed at Technicolor, rather than Fox's old preferred Deluxe plants.
I bet that old "OOP fear" was regarding the Deluxe-pressed releases, as opposed to the Technicolor-pressed versions, and I'd be willing to bet the Technicolor ones aren't exclusive to the Disney Movie Club, and could supplant the Deluxe-pressed versions at places like Best Buy, Walmart, Target, FYE, etc.
I can confirm that I do have a Disney-era Technicolor pressing of the 2017 reprint of the 2015 reprint of the 2009 Blu-ray and 1999 DVD of Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, as it says "DISC MADE IN MEXICO" on the back of the case, but still retains the characteristic "Cat. No" and untouched data of the original Fox discs. (In the case of the HA2 DVD, Panasonic did the disc mastering for the data back in 1997, but the actual discs it was on might have been a Deluxe-pressed release even over 20 years ago before Disney bought Fox.)

Yeah it gets confusing when we start talking about new disc contents as a true 'new release' vs. a repressing. Even many of the 2017/2015/etc. Fox 're-releases' are just represses of much older discs.

I have never seen a pre-Disney Fox release get pressed at Technicolor, Mexico, so I think that any "Made In Mexico" Fox disc is a Disney-authorized repress. Before Disney, Fox pressed a lot at Deluxe (IFPI 2F29) and occasionally used Sony US (IFPI OW** I think) and Cinram, PA (IFPI 2U**). Disney has used Technicolor, Mexico (IFPI KK**) for years, so that was an easy way to tell when Disney fully took over Fox's home video department.

Both Disney retail and Disney Movie Club releases are pressed at Technicolor, Mexico, so it's pretty easy to say that any Fox release with "Made In Mexico" is a Disney-authorized repress. The only question in my mind is whether Fox had unsold Deluxe-produced discs that Disney Movie Club is now in charge of.

Or if Disney is continuing to press all of Fox’s releases that were still in print.

I just saw a Disney-style “Multi-Screen Edition” Blu-ray of the 5-Film Die Hard Collection listed secondhand on Facebook Marketplace. Hadn’t seen that before.

If it gets listed on Blu-ray.com with a cleaner quality cover art image, I will add that to the list.

Hmm. With Borat being pretty popular, I wonder if they will release a Borat Blu-ray seeing as they are now releasing more of the adult films like Die Hard.

Do the old Fox titles keep their old Fox fanfares out of interest?

Yeah, that is interesting, but as far as the pre-Disney titles are concerned, like Disney, they may not necessarily print mentions of Mexico (or the USA on 4K sets) on the case. The IFPI mint marks might be a more viable clue in that case, at least on my end in regards to The Book of Life and Ferdinand.
If I can find Technicolor-type IFPI marks on the discs, I might point them out as being Technicolor-pressed repressings in my collection.
