So, it's not getting a 4K release? Also, wasn't the first film supposed to have been remastered again? I also wonder what the run time is on this.

They're probably holding out for the 40th anniversary before releasing the whole lot on UHD.

It was some sort of press release I read like a 1-2 months ago when it was announced that Godfather 3 was getting reedited. I think someone had a link to it on the movie section of the website here.

The first 2 don't need new remasters. They were painstakingly done right the first time and its a revelation they look as good as they do, since the negatives were in shambles.

I hope it's more a case of restoring some of the better deleted scenes and removing others.
