Hi all,
This isn't just a wishlist, it's more of a "What can possibly be SO bad that a title hasn't been released?" post. Phantasm 1. This, to my knowledge, is quite in-demand/awaited for. Isn't it a bit odd that the sequel was released but not the first of the series? If it made it to VHS and DVD, I'm wondering if the lack of a BD isn't necessarily the studio not feeling "up to it" (for lack of a better term), but rather something happened to the print since its DVD release. Might that be possible? Perhaps damage they feel is too severe? The Changeling. Yes, I'll admit that even on DVD you can tell that it'll need a lot of restoration work (even the audio) but still, I would've thought this would be out by now. Again, might there be more of a technical/print issue than not wanting to shell out the cash/time/effort? These aforementioned titles aren't even available in a streaming iTunes/Amazon format. This makes me a little worried that it's not an issue of little demand but something more. ... or I'm just overthinking it ![]() Just a little more then I'll end my long-windedness: If a couple titles, such as two on my top wishlist, April Fool's Day and The Money Pit ARE available on iTunes with full 1080p HD, why aren't they taking it further to a full restoration and physical release? Though they look vastly improved, they're far from the proper treatment you'd see on a "true" BD. ^ Those two, however, I'm pretty darn sure ARE a matter of not wanting to risk a profit loss, hence perhaps "testing the waters" via a streaming format. Thanks for your patience with me ![]() - TaRF |
