Default Caution when purchasing X-Men Blu-Ray/DVD/UV Combo

I purchased the new release of X-Men with UltraViolet at a local BestBuy (this one here: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/X-Men-Blu-ray/78668/) and I discovered shortly after opening it, that the DVD copy that it comes with is actually X2: X-Men United.

I went back to BestBuy and had it exchanged twice. Each time opening a sealed copy off the shelves and discovering they also had the X2 disc. Seems like an error in manufacturing. Due to their policy of not allowing returns on opened merch, they couldn't refund me (which is kind of dumb considering I didn't technically get what I paid for but it's understandable). I'll have to wait until they do a recall or call the customer support number on the back of the movie case (lolwhut).

So yeah, just a warning.

Did you try it in a dvd player maybe it is just a labeling error & the disc is still the correct one.

Whenever something like this happens to me, I always open the replacement while I'm at the store and in front of a manager. They always have the power to make an exception to the rules.

I tried it in my computer and compared it to my Blu/DVD/UV combo of X2 I bought at the same time, that's how I found out. Watched the first few minutes and saw the X2 title sequence. Also the DVD copy in my Blu of X2 has the exact same disc art.

There wasn't a manager nearby but I did open those two copies in front of the employee I was with. She popped the discs into a DVD player in the back as well and they were all X2.

They should be able to issue you a refund. A manufacturing error is not fraud on your part.

The fact remains though that he could have taken the disc home and copied it first before returning it. THAT is why they don't do refunds. Also, people could end up using the store as a rental store. This practice was ridiculous when DVDs first came out. I knew people in college who were getting away with 12 to 15 films a week by using this technique and always got their money back. So, they need to be very careful when making exceptions to the rule.

If I were a manager in this instance, I would make a 1 time exception and then have all stock pulled from the shelf and make a phone call to corporate so that future complications across the entire chain could be averted.

Well, yes, that is what should be done, and it has been done with other erroneously packaged movies, too.

Glad your not the manager. One time exception? Gee thanks. Don't do me any favors. It clearly is not his fault. What it amounts to is fraud. You sell me a item as described and item inside differs from what it's supposed to be...that's fraud. By law they have to take it back. And if they don't file a complaint with the State's Attorney General. I worked retail management for fifteen years, and when the product offered isn't what's received, and the company selling the product does nothing in return but keep your money, while you keep the wrong as advertised product is fraud. You need to get in touch with a manager at the store. Take names. Most management will pull product from floor after you explain and story is confirmed with the other associates you spoke to. Get the companys corporate customer service number and give them names and info so they are aware of situation. The manager you spoke to should have already started the ball rolling. Let everybody know that you what either the corrected product or your money back. Most times they will work with you. If they don't, let them know that the State's Attorney will be hearing about their lack of fairness in the issue. Most important. Follow thru. The State's AG is there to protect customers like you from fraud. Would you let a home improvement contractor off the hook if you paid for him to provide a service, and didn't follow through?

I've got the 2 disk Blu-Ray version that doesn't have the DVD/UV.
I checked just in case.
Mine is fine.
The only reason I checked is because the Cover Art is the same.

Another thing I noticed: On the packaging it supposedly includes a movie ticket up to $8 to see Days of Future past. In all 5 releases that I purchased, the only things inside the cases were character cards and UV codes. I even checked if they might have been printed on the receipt. Hmm...

Did you check the reverse of the sticker?

The code is on the back of the sticker.
