It's funny you made this thread, for the last week I've been wanting to watch my copy of BLIND FURY (never seen it).

Also last month I watched Legend of a Holy Drinker and man, it was one of those blind buys that blew me away. The kind of awesome I pray every blind buy to be. Highly recommended.

A reminder that any studio, if it's at all possible, needs to release an obvious collection of Paul Verhoeven's first four films. (All except Business is Business starring Rutger Hauer.)

Also, The Fourth Man is not starring Rutger Hauer. However, it's a great film and my second favorite of all of Verhoeven's Dutch work. Turkish Delight is my favorite.

I prob should have listed the titles. Business is Business - Turkish Delight - Keetje Temple - and Soldier of Orange.

I think I've only seen Turkish Delight out of these and I loved it, so I've held out hope for these to be released in a set at some point. Is probably time to just finally view them by whichever other means.

Yes! Soldier of Orange needs to be restored and released on BD!!

Agreed that more Verhoeven should be released. Fantastic director that gets it. Even enjoy Showgirls (for a multitude of reasons )

And I gotta say that to me, Hauer is at his best in Hobo with a Shotgun. Was a lot fun seeing him do all he can in that movie. And it was great to see that movie go from a trailer I saw in theaters before Grindhouse to a proper movie.

Self contained story, Hauer is the main antagonist. This is the French Blu-ray release, which is the best one. Lossless audio, English friendly (besides menus and lack of English Subtitles), 2 discs, 100% uncensored and region A friendly. Avoid the Australian release of this season, it has episode 1 censored, compresses the season on just 1 disc, and has lossy audio.

Highly recommend Rutger's autobiography. I read it recently and greatly enjoyed it. Very personable and funny and heartwarming.

I remember watching it when the old Anchor Bay DVD came out and enjoyed it. I was about ready to order it today, but then saw the review and screenshots and instantly backed out of that. That looks truly awful. Peckinpah's last film deserves better.
