Default Intelligence (CBS) -- Josh Holloway and Meghan Ory

Synopsis:

JOSH HOLLOWAY, MEGHAN ORY AND MARG HELGENBERGER STAR IN A SPECIAL SERIES PREMIERE OF THE NEW ACTION THRILLER "INTELLIGENCE," TUESDAY, JAN. 7

Moves to its Regular Monday Time Period on Jan. 13 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT)

"Pilot" - Gabriel and Riley must rescue the kidnapped member of CyberCom who invented the chip implanted in Gabriel's brain before the top-secret technology falls into the wrong hands. Meanwhile, Gabriel takes advantage of his chip to search for his wife who disappeared years ago, on the special series premiere of INTELLIGENCE, Tuesday, Jan. 7 (9:00-10:01 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. It will move to its regular Monday (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) time period on Jan. 13.

INTELLIGENCE is an action thriller starring Josh Holloway as a high-tech intelligence operative enhanced with a super-computer microchip in his brain. With this implant, Gabriel is the first human ever to be connected directly into the global information grid and have complete access to Internet, WiFi, telephone and satellite data. He can hack into any data center and access key intel in the fight to protect the United States from its enemies. Leading the elite government cyber-security agency created to support him is Director Lillian Strand, a straightforward and efficient boss who oversees the unit's missions. Strand assigns Riley Neal, a Secret Service agent, to protect Gabriel from outside threats, as well as from his appetite for reckless, unpredictable behavior and disregard for protocol. Also on the team is Chris Jameson, a resourceful federal investigator. The brains behind the design of the chip is Dr. Shenendoah Cassidy, whose son, Nelson, is jealous of Gabriel's prominent place in his father's life. As the first supercomputer with a beating heart, Gabriel is the most valuable piece of technology the country has ever created and is the U.S.'s secret weapon.

Searched for Intelligence and nothing showed up, so I'm going ahead and starting this thread. This premieres tonight after NCIS. It moves to Mondays at 10pm starting next week.

I'm very interested in this. Holloway as sort of an edgier "Chuck" type character should be fun. Just want to make sure you are all clear, this is an action procedural and not a serial drama.

John and Finch in one person? Sold!

Sarcasm appart, it looks interesting, so will definitely give it a chance, even if it looks hugely inspired by the success of PoI I think.

Unlikely. 2 different studios produce them. Intelligence is produced by ABC studios while Person of Interest is made by Warner Brothers.

The show should get some eyes on it tonight with NCIS as the lead in.

Have any of the show runners, producers, or writers been involved with Lost? If not then I might give this a shot.

Besides the occasional episode director (and of course Josh Holloway and Lance Reddick), doesn't look like much overlap. Time to set your DVR

I liked it, Monday is a pretty packed night though. Anyone here what they are doing with Castle if this is going in the 10pm?

This show is produced by ABC and licensed out to CBS.

Mondays at 10pm are going to challenging for this show. Competing against The Blacklist, which is the breakout hit of the season and Castle. Somebody's ratings will drop come Monday.

Oops that is what threw me off, so it is displacing Hostages. Well ya that is going to be tough. Castle is a solid show with a pretty set audience and Blacklist is first season win.
Why do they always have to do this to new series, put it on a timeslot it can win the demo if not the whole timeslot.

It was okay. I'd give it a C+

Holloway, Marg and Meghan were decent and there was some decent action. However, I wish they would have done a better job setting everything up. I felt like this was more of an episode 3 or 4 instead of a Pilot.

I would have like to have seen more on why Gabriel is so special that he was chosen to be this super spy/super agent. Yes, I know Marg's character referenced his military background.

It has potential based on the talented cast, but they have to write better scripts if they want this show to stand out more and not be relegated as just another CBS procedural.

Meghan Ory is beautiful, but doesn't help the show at all. Just another pretty face which will lead to some forced sexual tension between her character and Gabriel. How about some more Helgenberger? I thought she was very good.

One thing that's going to bother me: whenever they are stuck, Gabriel's brain will be able to see or do something that will lead them to the bad guys. Why? Because its easy. No explanation or logic needed. It happened on Chuck too, but that show was so campy and tongue in cheek, they got away with it. This show is trying to be smarter, but they expect us to be dumber

The doctor also mentioned his
[Show spoiler]genetic mutation. (That's probably not the right way to say it. He's not like an X-Men or anything, but he has a certain genetic characteristic making him suitable for the implantation.)

It was OK, nothing we haven't seen before...I guess the his wife story will be the underlying storyline for the show.

I thought the show was ok, but I will be watching The Blacklist and watching this "on demand". With two established shows in their timeslot they will have to move it to another night or wind up cancelling it.

Yeah, two hits in the same time slot is one thing, but has there ever been three?

Was did NBC have in this timeslot when it was ruled by Castle and CSI: Miami/Hawaii Five-0?

Never. There is not enough viewers on Mondays at 10pm. The live ratings will almost certainly go down in total viewers. No way it retains these numbers. More than half the population who uses Nielsen will have to DVR one or two of the 3 shows.
