Two Years Sober Today!!

Not sure why I'm posting this but I'm just so stoked. Two years ago today, I decided to go a different route and wise up. I'm 24 years old now and from the time I was 15 to 22, I suffered from addictions to Xanax, Ecstacy, Cocaine, OxyContin (my drug of choice) and Heroin -- all at separate times, of course. But on June 22nd, 2012, I told myself that I couldn't do it anymore, got help the next day, and am now two years sober and haven't looked back. And I must say... It feels awesome!

I can't handle anything that tampers with my mind. It was a social thing when I was coming up - but I still didn't like it. I found that anything manipulating my mood or thinking capacity was just as much a nuisance as a cloud of mosquitos, and a lot more dangerous.


I've also found that most people who walk away from that stuff feel the same way. They don't like being dragged around by chemicals, and they wind up in general being better able to help others, as well as themselves, deal with the usual crazy stuff that happens day to day - and long term, too.


They don't need the distractions. They can see real demons, and real rainbows, not the fake special effects that chemicals brew up.


Good for you. Not only are you in the real world - you're ready to control it. We need more of those kinds of people walking around, we really do.

The capability was there before the dope was. Seeing a river catch fire is awesome - until you realized it's polluted, dead, and killed everything in it.
