I just watched the movie, pretty good actually, I thought it was going to be...well, not good, but I liked it, I will buy the BD.

Any info on the release yet?

Thx.

There's a Best Buy Exclusive.

Not sure what it is.

So the DVD is 25 and the BR is 25 but together they are 20 that's just confusing.

Looks like a release week price of $16.99 at Best Buy. Not too bad.

I wonder if it's any good. I was debating whether to blind buy Sushi Girl, The Thieves (Korean), or the remake Hara-Kiri. So I went with a Hara-Kiri since I enjoy Takashi Miike's movies. Hopefully Netflix or Redbox will release the movie so I can take a peak at it.

(all movies mentioned were being sold at BBY)

Yikes! Disney better send a nutritionist/personal trainer over to Mark Hamill's place now if they intend to use him in the next Star Wars.

It was a fun crowd pleaser for those who enjoy all the other actors that have been in more higher profile films from the past.

I do have to agree with one commenter that Mark Hamill might need some serious personal training to get back into Skywalker shape since I noticed how much bigger he seemed than the last time most people would have seen him over 30 years ago, not sure if that was a fat suit or not but he's pretty beefy now. I sat in the Bloor Cinema at Toronto After Dark last year and it was a Sushi double bill.. Sushi Girl and Dead Sushi (I recommend seeing both films back to back if you want a truly weird assed double bill) I was just listening intently to hear Hamill dwell into Joker Mode and every so often you could just hear it in his voice.

Aside from the Hamill factor most of the cameo's were a treat to watch, Tony Todd, Danny Trejo (Best Crowd Reaction), Michael Biehn, and Sonny Chiba (Yes Hatori Hanzo does make his own Sushi)

Worth a rent if not a reasonably priced purchase.

blind bought this on Tuesday and im glad I did. I met James Duval back at a horror convention and he was talking about this movie which is what got me interested. Very glad I picked it up. I thought it was damn good. Good acting and a fun time. .

I could not stand Mark Hamill's acting in Sushi Girl.
Worth a rental but I would not watch this again.

To my dismay, the BD is not available in Canada, only the dvd, and to rub salt into the wound, it's been cropped to a 1.78 AR (from 2.35). Bullocks

Just rented this from Netflix.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, according to some people), when the main menu loads, there are no selectable options that appear, so I can't access the movie! My player is a slim PS3.

Tried doing a search to see if anyone else ran into this problem, but have come up short.

EDIT: The menu options appear on my Panasonic 85 blu-ray player, so it looks like it's a player specific issue.

There are several Magnolia Blu-rays that have this problem on the PS3. Sushi Girl, The Hunter and Take this Waltz are some examples. When I buy a Magnolia title I never know whether I'll have to watch it on another player or not. As for this movie I think it was a terrible Tarantino rip-off. I found no originality or entertainment value from it at all.

it wasn't the best film i've watched, James Duvall needed a bigger part, and it's also on netflix instant watch. I'm glad I didn't just buy it day one.

I loved this movie. Mark Hamill is amazing in this. I enjoyed the making of also, seeing all the actors interacting with each other between takes. Shows that they are normal people like everyone else.
