At home, we use the blu-ray player for Netflix. But it's slow and the quality isn't always at it's top. I personally live using the ps3 for Netflix. My gf does not for one of the most stupidest reason ever...she don't like using the ps3 controller :/

On topic, I use my Apple TV to stream to my multiple HDTVs. I am rather new to the whole concept of streaming via Netflix, but since I realized I hardly ever rewatch the shows I buy (with minor exceptions) its cheaper and doesn't take up any room. |

I do not like the Netflix quality compared to Blu-ray discs, so I do not have a Netflix account. A family member I know streams a lot of Netflix movies on their Blu-ray player. I would be interested in Netflix if they were to offer 7.1 lossless audio with their 4K QUAD HD streaming service in the future.

My preferred streaming source in order is the apple tv, ps3, roku then our blu-ray player. I like the interface of the apple tv and use it even if it seems to buffer more than the roku and ps3. |

I use a Sony S5100, mostly to watch stuff that isn't available on disc, like Netflix's original content or TV shows like 30 Rock that aren't available on blu-ray.
No complaints, perhaps because I don't expect much out of it--it's a little wonky, but much better than the Panasonic I used to use. Edit: I also use a wired connection because it's right next to the router and our wifi is...untrustworthy. Last edited by Feiereisel; 06-13-2014 at 02:01 AM. |

For the most part I don't have any issues using my oppo 103 for streaming netflix. Its not 100% blu disc quality.but comes close at times.as with any streaming device there's always multiple factors involved but all in all I find no difference between the oppo and ps4

it's nice and simple for somethings. i watch Orange is The New Black and stream it and a few other things. i get great picture, good speed (i have 25mb download) and with the sound and picture from my 105D, it looks great for streaming. my players are hardwired to a gigabit network of cat6 cable run throughout my apartment and it works just fine.
for critical watching or for movie night it's always blu, but, otherwise, i don't have a problem using netflix, appletv or vudu for other viewing. like i said, i get good speed downloads so the streaming looks good. also, this is not a blu vs streaming thread. i don't compare the two anyway. |

I stream Netflix through my Sony player, though I'm not fond of the interface at all. Actually, the interface for every streaming service I've tried (Prime, Hulu) sucks with my player. Hopefully the player I'm upgrading to soon has nicer ones.

Every Gamestop has scores of used PS3 media remotes. The later model, with BT and IR is actually quite good. If you have a Harmony remote, there is an adaptor you can buy or go the cheap-o Nyko media remote workaround.

I didn't spend the money on a high quality home theatre setup to watch compressed lower quality content without HD audio on it. If I'm going to pay for content, it will be the best quality presentation available... and Netflix is FAR from that.
Also, when I pay for content I want to own it in a manner that guarantees I can watch it anytime (so long as there is no power outage). Internet problems, servers problems, PSN problems, ISP problems... no worries because the disc will still work. Lastly, I refuse to support a mediocre digital distribution effort which could be the demise of the high quality presentation medium. Last edited by Petra_Kalbrain; 06-13-2014 at 07:20 AM. |

I was loving Netflix for maybe 10 years but several things they did bother me.
Quickster was one... charging more for Blu was another... often raising prices while lowering services was a third. I just hate them now and haven't used them for several years. My kids have streamed some shows via Amazon Prime Video ... and the interface of my PS3 is far better than the interface of my BDP but functionally the streaming is still the same. I don't think they put lots of effort into the BDP versions or maybe there isn't enough resources available to do so. A PS3 can have it's on "app" so it can be easier I suppose to make it a nice one. |

I use Netflix quite often, and I think the quality is just fine. I love having a large amount of content available to stream at any time, and I don't seem to have a problem finding something to watch.
I use my PS3 to stream and it works great. |

Its between the current AppleTV app 3rd generation and a very recent certified Netflix app for Oppo Digital BDP-103 thru BDP-105D BD players. Both are IMHO the best Netflix interfaces currently to utilize.
