Surprisingly I Didn't find any existing thread on this beautiful gem of a movie. so I started this topic. Its the directional debut of Daniel Auteuil and boy isn't he awesome. This movie was recommended to me by 'Pro-B' long ago. Finally yesterday I had time to watch it and loved every bit of it. I haven't seen the 1940 old version so I enjoyed this movie more. Thanks a lot to 'Pro-B'



However I want to mention that this is Region 'A' locked. I tested on my Region B system and I got the "Region Restriction Message" so I confirm that its Region A only so if any moderator wants to change the description please do so.

I have one question. In the description here it is mentioned that it has both BD and a DVD but mine comes without the DVD.

Its an echo case with just the BD inside. Is the info mentioned is wrong or if they are now shipping the new lot which is BD only?

My copy is a single disc as well. I got it late November last year.

This is strange as here on this site it is said to be both BD+DVD.

Many of the dB entries are created from sell-sheets sent out by the distributors and I've run across several that the distributor says were sent out before a printer's error was discovered, but could just as well have been 'we changed our minds.' As no review on this or any other site mentions a dual format release and there was a DVD released the same day, I don't think there was ever a dual format release.

I'll change the dB entry for this release.

Watched this when it was 1st released and aside from the ending, thought it played out like the missing back story to Manon of the Springs. Very nicely surprised.

I hope Jean/Manon and both My Father's Glory and My Mother's Castle get a release sooner than later to go with this release.
