I drive an 08 Tiburon and the other day I smashed my stock hood. My car is dark gray and sporty so I thought of the bright idea of getting a OEM style carbon fiber hood as a quick fix however I didn't really do much research on carbon fiber hoods before I bought it...
![]() Most of the pics I searched online of installed carbon fiber hoods are missing hood pins however in the instructions that Seibon provides they say in bold, "hood pins required" I drove about 18 miles today going about 65-70mph and it stayed latched however I'm not sure if it will always be like that. Does anybody have experience with cf hoods (good or bad) and whether or not hood pins are needed? Also, Seibon doesn't recommend hood dampers because they are designed for a heavier hood however the place where my OEM dampers screw in are on the cf hood. I know they used a stock hood for a mold but there are actually metal threads inside the hood like they want you to use dampers. ![]() |
