Default Edward Scissorhands Blu-ray

so i went to futureshop and noticed the nice cover art for Edward Scissorhands, then i noticed the retarded price....$44.99. I also noticed the DTS HD MA 4.0. What's the deal with the 4.0(why no 5.1, 6.1, or 7.1)? I haven't watched this bluray yet, but the specs aren't selling me on this title. I love the movie, but BD25, mpeg2, 4.0, $44.99, I think this movie deserves better.

Amazon: $27.00. Does not list the number of channels though. I thought someone here had said it was a 5.1 in reality instead of the listed 4.0. Not able to prove this though. Still, I bought this one from amazon regardless. Great movie!

$44.99 Canadian.

Edward was done for CDS, the first multichannel digital as basically an extended dolby surround mix. THey just made the channels discrete

Who cares if it's 44.99 at FS when it's 34.99 at BestBuy.ca. Get them to price match if you're set on shopping at FS.

Just order a bunch off amazon.com at once, and even with the shipping price you ll still save a wack of cash rather than buying them in stores.

Can you verify for us if it really is 4.0 or a re-mix into 5.1...

Thanks, Mark

Perfect to say the least. I noticed a lot of detail on the houses I never saw before. Like, the stains under all the windows and roof lines. Also along the house foundations.

As a contractor and builder, these are the kinds of things I look for in a movie too. Thanks for the review!

Most movies after the dying out of 70mm 6-track magnetic and before the DD/DTS/SDDS 5.1/7.1 digital era had a 4.0 discrete mix (left center right surround) for subsequent matrixing into 35mm optical Dolby Surround Stereo, so for making true 5.1 versions they'd need to do a totally new remix. So 4.0 is probably the Original Master Recording for many

Got my Scissorhands at Suncoast in-store for about $31

Sure thing

Not sure why they let something like that fly. They went to great pains to make the movie feel like it took place during the 70's. The nice lawns, the painted and well kept houses. I just found it odd they did not slap a fresh coat of paint on those houses.

Weird. Excellent movie either way
