Agreed. But too little, too late. Had the steels for the LotR trilogy theatricals. Only the EEs got the steels for The Hobbit. Already have the standard keepcase editions as a result, so it'd be easier to just finish off with those for this one. 3D, that is.

Both prior theatricals got non-USA releases. Then Jumbos for the EE. Glad USA has stuck with the slims so far...

Well for right now I've been collecting the Target Lego editions of the Theatrical and the domestic US steelbooks for the Extended, but I might pick this one up anyway.

ive held off on buying any versions, at this point the EE trilogy boxset is only 1 year away

I'm guessing Rite Aid or Walgreens, that's the only thing that makes sense looking at the other film's exclusive releases.

I'm just sticking with the 3D EE black amarays on this one like I have for the other two, it's the nicest packaging out there imo and at least it's consistent looking.

I wish they'd be consistent with the steel releases. I'll get this don't get me wrong just wish we got US releases of all three theatrical versions instead of what we got.
