Bless anyone who can finish this, I gave up after episode four. I haven't decided which is more obnoxious, Ryan Murphy's self parody or Ben Platt's execrable performance.

I hope Ben Platt doesn't become the new Zooey Deschannel. You don't have to sing in every acting project. Pick one.

So a typical Ryan Murphy trainwreck. Great. I'll probably give it two episodes to see for myself.

I just finished episode 3. I'm enjoying, but I don't know how I feel about Ben Platt as an actor. This show, at least to me, is carried by the supporting cast.

I’ve finished it and the series has a major reset for the end of season and the final episode is superb with a surprise big name star who’ll presumably be a recurring role next season. I’m really glad the series and main character grew beyond the initial setup when most other shows would rely on that setup and maintain the status quo as the focus of the series.

I watched this with the BF and the final episode is the most we’ve laughed in a long time; it’s perfectly scripted and it’s hilarious. That surprise big name star has a string of the best big-star-left-to-chew-the-scenery-in-a-Ryan-Murphy-production scenes we’ve ever had. And watching strong actors act and act off other strong actors is the core appeal of Ryan Murphy shows.

The last episode was easily the best and sets up a really intriguing premise for S2. Pretty much everyone in this was perfectly cast for what they needed to bring to the table, and that big-name guest star was absolutely brilliant.

Just finished it tonight. Thought it went kind of downhill as it went along. Didn't love the final episode either but am interested to see where it goes so hope it gets another season. I'd certainly watch.

Finished episode 7, which really feels like a season finale. Have avoided spoilers entirely, didn't even read this thread yet past the first few posts... I have an idea what might happen in episode 8, but surely they wouldn't go there?

I finished this a couple of weeks ago, so I'm curious what you're implying with 'there'!

[Show spoiler]I have a feeling Payton is going to turn out to be the "villain". People keep referring to him as a sociopath, and I don't think they're wrong. Also, I never really bought the whole "River killed himself in front of me"... which would mean Payton murdered him.

Still at work, can't wait to see if I'm right...

Well, that went an entirely different direction than what I thought they were setting up...
[Show spoiler]Three years later? Judith Light in a thrupple? Bette Midler??? Still loved it, but wow, episode 8 felt like a completely new series. If this is what Ryan Murphy unchained looks like, I'm all in. Fantastic show, hope Netflix lets this play out for awhile.

A show by Ryan Murphy? Gotta check that out!

I'm still disappointed that Scream Queens was cancelled but at least the season finale episode wrapped it up quite decently.

Multiple shows, actually. These all sound fantastic, hope they're as good as The Politician.

Well, I liked the pilot episode and genuinely feels made by Ryan Murphy and his typical style, but I didn't find it very interesting, exciting or thrilled to keep on watching the rest of the season.

To be more specific, the characters felt somewhat bland and the story isn't anything new or original.

Is Zoey actually in season two? I've seen no evidence as to that, other than IMDb listing her for all 15 episodes, but that stuff's not necessarily always accurate.

Well this Netflix Ryan Murphey deal hasn't gone that great so far. Hollywood bombed and now this show isn't even popping up in the top 10 list on Netflix. rip
