Canada Friday the 13th Double Features

I am interested in the Friday the 13th collection but hesitant to get it because I hate the tin/book packaging plus I'm not really interested in the post-Paramount titles. I understand the collection is not actually being sold in Canada except as an import because Warner/Paramount does not have distribution rights in Canada to those later titles. However, we ARE getting a couple of double-feature sets, one which features the first two films, the other features the second two.

Does anyone else think (or actually know for a fact) that down the road they'll likely bring out more double features like this with 5 & 6 in one set and 7 & 8 in the other? If that's the case, I'm thinking of going this route but I'd hate to be stuck without getting those last few titles, especially 6 which is a fave of mine.

What to do, what to do....

Would love to know if 5&6, 7&8, 9&10 are coming too!

I assume 3 & 4 is 2 discs as they are available elsewhere individually.

Guessing the same single disc releases if the other double features make it.

I would imagine that all the F13 films will be released separately (paired as double features) at some point. The new F13 film isn't due to come out until 2015 though, so it might be a long wait...

I love the entire franchise. The problem I have with the box set is that I own the two prior Paramount DVD box sets, the first three, FVJ, and 2009 on Blu-ray and the hardcover Crystal Lake Memories book.

I own 6 out of the ten discs in the collection. I own the full book. I am not willing to pay $100 for a box set containing most of what I already own.

I would like them to release the discs for 4-10 individually and I will buy at least a couple of them.

It's about half that price if you buy it from WBShop and sell your UV code.

Can anyone confirm that the release of parts 3 & 4 is 2 discs and has all the special features?

Much appreciated.

Many thanks

I find it odd that there hasn't been an official Canadian set as the Warner/Paramount distribution deal was for the US only, yet Warner have released part 4 in Canada

I can't confirm for sure, but these Warner double feature sets usually just utilize what's been released individually and put them in the same package. With that in mind, I'm wondering if those films in the box set that are doubled up onto the same disc will be released as a single disc as well if they are released here later on.

The Warner/Paramount distribution deal is for the US and Canada, so Warner has no issues with being able to release the first 8 films however they want in Canada. The problem is actually with the later films that were released by New Line Cinema. Warner actually owns the rights to those in the U.S. but eOne Entertainment/Alliance owns then in Canada.

I am praying sooner rather than later, we get 4 blu ray releases of part 4, 5/6, 7/8, 9/10 in the USA...I am all over this if it happens if each blu ray is $10 apiece (The USA release from the boxset has each of the above films spread out over 4 blu rays...)

Me too, Had my Boxset on order for over a week now with no movement so I've cancelled it.

I already have 1-3, FVJ & F13th (2009) so.....

If i can grab this nice Canadian set of 3 & 4 and the German release of JGTH & Jason X all I need is 5/6 & 7/8.

Can't really justify the price when I've already got half the set

Ah! balls to it, just ordered 3/4 from Amazon.ca. Cost me a small fortune as I choose 2-4 day shipping

If nobody updates before when I receive my copy I'll update with specs etc...

I can live without 5-8 for a while, Hell...I've been waiting for The Final Chapter since 2009 so a little while longer isn't gonna hurt

Is there a way for us all to write to eOne Entertainment/Alliance and let them know there's a strong demand for an unrated JGTH release? They may be our only hope of getting that version on blu-ray disc. And if it comes in a double feature with Jason X, that would be even better since we could just replace that disc in the boxset.

Yep...exactly what I did. Sold my UV code on ebay this week. Buy It Now of $25...sold almost instantly! So, the set cost me around $45 after selling the UV. Once I sell off my singles of parts 1,2,3, 09 remake, and FvsJ, this boxed set will be almost free!!

Come on, Warner! What's the hold up on the rest of the double features?
