Sorry, if there is another topic like this.
So, I want to buy the DBZ movies but I was wondering if there is a big difference between buying them on Blu-ray vs. buying them on DVD. I wonder because the movie sets are cheaper and have more movies on each set than the blu-rays but if the blu-rays are the same but look better than I will save up for those. Thanks! |

That all depends on what you mean. Like if you're referring to the single movie releases on DVD, there is a major difference with these Blu-rays. Though not always for the better.
There's also the DVD movie packs which include more movies than the Blu-rays do, the DVD Steelbooks which are identical to the Blu-rays but with a Steelbook casing and other releases. |

If you do decide to go blu-ray and don't mind buying used, highly suggest waiting for a good online sale at Secondspin or FYE. They tend to get in used DBZ blu-rays fairly frequently - you'll be able to score many of them under $15 each shipped. maybe even as low as $12-$13

Just to be clear I was referring to the difference between these setshttp://www.amazon.com/dp/B005HVWW3K/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2J73 1STL3XM37&coliid=I3ICZCAJ69CP8Q
and these blu-rays http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Double-Feature-Strongest/dp/B0014567VQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1407874285&sr=1-1&keywords=dragon+ball+z+the+dead+zone |

The Blu-rays are really nice, I am really impressed with how well that they cleaned/sharpened the image of the movies. The films do look really nice, however they aren't perfect as no DBZ release is as we all know and this is definitely no exception. The only real problem that I have had with these Blu-rays is that there are a few scenes where the color is a bit too bright, and the cropping is not the best. Overall though, these are very nice releases to have and they are very cheap. You get two movies in one, well three movies with the Broly Collection which you can't beat that! I would strongly recommend them to any DBZ fan!
