Default Darth Vader star Dave Prowse in remission from cancer

I guess the dark side of the force is strong with him to make full recovery.

If my memory serves me right it is because Lucas dubbed the voice on the orignal movie without telling him he was going to do it.

David must not have been that upset since he still did the next two.

Remember he was also replaced again with Sebastian Shaw on Return of the Jedi.. so three people played Darth... D. Prowse, J.E Jones and S. Shaw ..

Sebastian Shaw also got f***ed over by Lucas when he superimposed Hayden over the top of him in the 'Special Edition' of Jedi, which made no frakken sense..

A dark time in film history. I could strangle Lucas over this.

It makes zero sense. Why put Hayden in? Was kenobi young again at the end of jedi? No.

Idiot Lucas.

It was showing him as he was when he was a jedi, which the last time Anakin was a jedi he was young and looked like he did as the force ghost.

Glad Dave Prowse is doing good,

Glad Dave Prowse is doing good,
some of the 'die hard' fans of the new films, tried to explain it on other forums as "oh they used the Young Anakin because he reverted back to his 'good' Jedi form", which IMO is complete BS, as the younger Anakin was a complete hate fulled bastard. Vader redeemed himself the minute he saved Lukes life, so there is no reason to show his younger self. if they were going to try and use that excuse, he should have really reverted back to his bowl-cut Phantom Menace age.

Can we keep in mind that this thread is about a real human being that is figthing cancer and leave "the Star Wars prequel vs original thrash talk" for another thread? David Prowse is not Darth Vader, Vader is a fictional character is a scifi movie.

On topic, I wish him all the best. My father as been in remission for almost 7 years now, it's a daily struggle for them when they are at this age. Sir I wish you all the best and a long life.

exactly, I agree, lets keep the 'thats good news' comments coming, we dont want to actually talk about the major film franchise he is in. Here are some nice examples of what to say instead;

Thats Great!
Thats Good News!
Happy for Him!
Wow What a Little Champion!
Prayers Are With Him!

LOL when I was a child, I thought that voice coming from the mask was actually him, it was only years later that I learned it was James Earl Jones.

Interesting note, my mother's friend dated David for awhile here in the U.S. I actually met him when I was a kid and got a signed Darth Vader picture from him.
