Boardwalk Empire is pure gold all the time. Dexter started off amazingly but has become worse each season after 4.

All are worth watching. Boardwalk empire is the best but true blood is excellent fun for the first four seasons.

I grew bored of True Blood after two seasons. I couldn't get through the first episode of Dexter. Boardwalk Empire is good but I wasn't really into it until the second season.

Dexter. True Blood is crap. Not seen Boardwalk Empire, just doesn't really look like my sort of thing.

But then again, I'm a sucker for mob dramas (especially when the name Martin Scorsese is attached). Dexter is good, too.

I'm not a fan of the vampire sub genre of horror, so I don't recommend True Blood.

Out of those three Boardwalk Empire is better by quite a wide margin, but it depends what your in to. I think True Blood is better than Dexter because at least it admits what it is, rather than pretending to be quality. True Blood is fun and Dexter isn't bad for its first four seasons, though it does have its faults which become more and more apparent after season four.

Sorry just saw when this poll was originally posted, i'm sure you've decided on a show by now.

Seen all of these. Dexter is only good in seasons 1, 2, and 4. 3 and 7 are JUST okay. Boardwalk Empire is the better series. True Blood is the most fun.

Boardwalk Empire is the most consistent. The other two went down hill in later seasons.

Having said that, I don't care for Dexter in general. I saw it because my girlfriend liked it.

It's a tough call. Boardwalk Empire, to me, felt great as a whole. It had its ups and downs, but the entire journey went exactly where I thought it would go and I enjoyed it.

An addendum to the above: If you like period gangster dramas, give Peaky Blinders a try. It's late 1910s, early 1920s era gangster drama set in the UK. Granted, it runs down a different path but it is so good. It's about six, hour long (or so) episodes across 3 seasons so far.

Dexter is good. It went from 'amazing' to 'bad' across 8 seasons to balance that out. But be prepared for what will come, right to the end.

True Blood? I'd say that it really depends. I finished it because I wanted to. But I thought that The Vampire Diaries had better storytelling than True Blood did.

Some people just have long term commitment issues, especially to show watching =P.
