Oh, in US? that didn't take too long eventually!!
where's the news? any more info?

(I just wish Criterion had released that, but again it's great news!)

edit: I just saw it's coming from Cohen Media Group.
Is it a good company? I haven't got anything from them.

Although, if it will be identical with the French release, I will prefer the French digibook which won't have that big red C all over the cover.

Cohen are very good. I have been very impressed with every Blu Ray and DVD I have purchased from them.

Cohen is a good company to release this for sure. They just have crappy covers.

"Director's Cut" refers to the version of the film director Chereau approved for the Cannes screening before he passed away

Dubstar,

This final version of the film runs at approximately 159 minutes. It has some color corrections approved by the late director and it is the version of the film he endorsed before he passed away. This is the "Director's Cut" that was introduced at Cannes.

And make sure you add this restoration to your collection. It should look and sound fantastic. (Soundtrack by Goran Bregovic - Emir Kusturica's Underground ).

definitely! I haven't seen this movie since it's original US theatrical run - and I was very impressed by it.

France french blu ray (reine margot )

Hello, I write you it of France, I speak not well English thus want excuse me, it translated by a machine translation/

First of all I confirm English subtitles for the movie !

And here is my French test:

After viewing yesterday of the blu ray in ......... Waouhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Except some scenes(stages) in very low light, the rest it is really of the quite good!
Whether it is the dive of the image, the color, the sound everything is really top!
Of dnr or other muck, the image is very detailed but while staying very cinema!
Openly(Frankly) the remasterisation 4k is impressionante!
It is necessary to see the scene(stage) of the marriage blazing as ever, of more Chereau as Cassavetes films close relation of the face and the hd allows of really got all the feelings
I really rediscovered this masterpiece which I had not seen for a very long time, sublimate!

For bonus it is of quite good so proposed furthermore on a second DVD(no subtitles english for this), a doc of 53 min of the collection " a movie a history(story) " or we see Chereau for last time.. Passionant returning with interview made for the opportunity(occasion) and with archives images either follows one another a large part of the casting and or Antoine de Baeque returns on highly-rated historic and fantasized over Dumas.
In the second bonus, a conversation between Chereau and Thompson passionant also, without waffle and filled with crunchy anecdotes (45min
Then comparison storyboard, scenes(stages) cut etc.....

In it is added a notebook of 48 pages, really not trivial, fascinating also, closer to a real book than to a usual trivial notebook.

Finally here is for fast return, having seen again(revised) the movie, I was not able to refrain from seeing bonuses captivating from start to finish!

To end I would say that for my part Pathé for this time this not missed the boat and offers us a deserving edition(publishing) of one of the most beautiful movie of time(period) of the 90s or highly-rated big show(entertainment), not hésiitait not to join that of the intimist and the theatrical!

Funny historical trivia:

Because Henri was Protestant, he had to remain outside the cathedral when he and Marguerite were married.
