Any blu ray manufacture ok with region free mods?

I found out thru tech savy friend the dickwads at pioneer released firmware to cripple mod for multi region. I dont want to give them money again so..,is there any manufacturer, ie sony, who is ok with region free and not looking to block it?

There's always a chance that a manufacturer's firmware update will kill the multi-region playback. You just have to buy a modded player from a firm that does it's own updates or can reverse a OEM upgrade with modded firmware.

Failing that buy a foreign player and don't worry about the updates!
