I like what I read on the synopsis. Honest question, just how much religion is in this? Is it about religion or more about humanity and love? Thanks.

Saw this for the first time tonight. To say this is a Christian film is an honest statement....but it's more about the family and their struggle to KEEP the faith as their faith is being pushed to the very limit.

I felt this was more about the family and less about faith....but the faith part was a necessary part of the true story. It didn't come across as a Bible-thumping film that preaches at you. The faith story-line was very well done and woven into the structure of the film, without being intrusive.

Very well said. I agree! It's a gut-wrenching, faith based movie that will not overwhelm the non-believer. It will stir your soul regardless of your faith.

I usually HATE christian films (even though I am one) due to horrible production values, or just syrupy propoganda that just thumps you upside the head, but I really enjoyed this one. very sweet and moving

I don't watch a lot of them either, but I do want to see this.

I confess, within the first 10-15 minutes ,I felt I was going to hate this due to some sappy set ups. It just all seemed a bit generic and too sugary....but after about 10-15 minutes, it finally settled into a very well paced, and engaging story that drew me and allowed me to care about the characters.

I was an emotional wreck by the films end. LOVED it.

Miracles from Heaven Blu-ray (brief user review)

Miracles from Heaven is a Christian movie that is based on real documented events (true story). Miracles from Heaven had a budget of $13 million dollars and box office sells worldwide were over $73.6 million. Miracles from Heaven is made by the same producers that brought Heaven is for Real to the theaters (While Miracles from Heaven was a very successful Christian movie, Heaven is for Real was a little more successful with a $12 million dollar budget and over $101.3 million in box office sells).

Most of the things I mention in this paragraph are not spoilers since the preview for The Miracles from Heaven movie mentions around 90% of the topics below. Miracles from Heaven is about a little girl around 10 years old called Anna Beam who comes down with a serious life threatening disease where there is no medical cure (It looks like Anna might die soon since her condition gets worse). The Beam family is a Christian family, however their faith in Jesus Christ is challenged. Some church ladies suggest that maybe there is some secret sin in the Beam families life that is preventing Anna from being healed. The movie shows Anna having a near death out of body experience after a serious fall. What is unique about the Miracles from Heaven movie is that Anna also receives a physical healing in her body as soon as she returns from talking to God. What also is very awesome is that the condition she was cured from has no medical cure and her condition was medically documented. The doctors are surprised that she has no more disease and no broken bones after falling so far and hitting her head directly on the ground. Miracles from Heaven is an excellent movie for Christians and non-Christians to watch. Since its based on real documented events it makes the movie more enjoyable.

Video quality

The Miracles from Heaven Blu-ray uses a total of 35GB out of 50GB on the dual layer Blu-ray disc. The main menu, movie, and special features all use 1080P resolution. The Blu-ray disc menu uses MPEG-2 codec with 2.0 LPCM soundtrack at 1536kbps. The movie and all the special features use the MPEG-4/AVC codec. Many parts of the movie had MPEG-4/AVC bit rates between 26Mbps-30Mbps+. Slower scenes in the movie peaked down to 21Mbps briefly. Overall average bit rate appeared to be around 26Mbps for some scenes. The color quality and resolution detail for this movie was very good. Subtitles offered are English, English SDH, Cantonese, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, French, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Thai.

Audio quality

Miracles from Heaven contains a English 5.1 DTS-HD Master audio soundtrack and a Portuguese 5.1 DTS-HD Master audio soundtrack that is bit for bit exactly the same as the studio master. I had no complaints with the 5.1 lossless soundtrack, dialogue was easy to understand and surround speakers were active for some scenes. There are also lossy Spanish, French, and Thai 5.1 Dolby Digital (640kbps) soundtracks. Even a 5.1 Dolby Digital (640kbps) lossy English Descriptive audio soundtrack is offered for the visually impaired.

Special features

I enjoyed listening to the commentary with Patricia Riggen and Randy Brown. The audio commentary track uses lossy English 2.0 Dolby Digital (192kbps). All the extra features use MPEG-4/AVC codec with 1080P resolution. Except for the previews, all the extra features use lossy English 2.0 Dolby Digital (192kbps). Bearing Witness lasts 9 minutes and 9 seconds. Miracles Abound: The Making of Miracles From Heaven lasts 9 minutes and 16 seconds. Accounts from Annabel lasts 6 minutes and 17 seconds. Deleted Scenes lasts 13 minutes and 33 seconds. Your Words Music Montage lasts 3 minutes and 47 seconds. Creating Heaven Concept Art Exploration lasts 3 minutes and 48 seconds. There are several Christian preview trailers on this Blu-ray. The previews use English lossy 5.1 Dolby Digital (640kbps).

Conclusion

Miracles from Heaven was an enjoyable Christian movie that is also based on real documented events. Those Christians and non-Christians that enjoyed Heaven is For Real will most likely also enjoy Miracles from Heaven. This is more than a story about someone claiming to meet God in an out of body near death experience. This true story also contains a medically documented event about a little girl being healed from a fatal disease that has no earthly medical cure. The video quality was excellent and the 5.1 DTS-HD Master audio soundtrack sounded very good. Bonus material including the audio commentary track was enjoyable. This is another Christian Blu-ray movie that I recommend Christians purchase or rent.

I loved this movie MUCH more than I thought I would. It started off really hokey, but it finally settled in and unfolded very nicely.
